Waiting for Hockey OOTP - what hockey sim to use while I wait?
I'm excited about the OOTP hockey sim, but it won't be available for a few months.
What other hockey sim can be used while I wait? Is the XBOX NHL12 GM mode any good? |

no, the lack of realism kills NHL12 GM mode for me.
Eastside Hockey Manager 2007 is the only thing similar but it's outdated now too, although i still play it alot. The community has done a great job with mods to make the stats alittle more realistic. I really don't even know if they're selling it anymore, i don't think they are...so i'm not much help You can check out GM Hockey 2009 but i'm not a big fan of it. http://www.lesims.net/?lang=eng

Although not a career hockey sim, ActionPC Hockey is a great season replay game at dksports.com.

Eastside Hockey Manager 2007 is still available for sale. If you download the Try'n'Buy demo there is a button on the splash screen to purchase it.
The latest 2011/12 rosters can be downloaded here: [2011-12] Manimal Rosters v4.2b • EHM The Blue Line Here is the patch which allows you to modify the start date: Custom Start Date Patch v1.2 • EHM The Blue Line

Yeah East Side Hockey Manager is probably the ideal model OOTP can follow.
I'm excited about this!!! Given OOTP's already excellent in making sports management games I'm sure you guys will be able to ace the Hockey as well. It's been a long long time since we have a decent hockey manager game. If it's possible, how do we get into beta testing? I'm sure some of us are long time avid hockey manager game players. |

I second the recommendation for ActionPC hockey. It is a great replay style hockey game, tons of seasons, tons of support from the company and a strong community. It also is a very good game.

If you're waiting for OOTP Hockey, then NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007 is definitely what you'll want to check out in the meantime. As Dave said, it's outdated (released in September of 2006) but it's the best hockey management sim we've seen so far.

Thanks for the suggestions in the thread everyone. Last time I played EHM was the original freeware version. Tried the SI version but felt a tad on the lost side.
Can't wait for the OOTP hockey sim! |

If you're looking to download them to put into your game, you'll want to place them in ...\Program Files\Sports Interactive\NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures In the pictures folder you should see a folder for "players" and a folder for "logos". Inside the logos folder you'll then see folders for "clubs" and "comps", for team and competition logos respectively. As for where to actually download from, The Blue Line is your best bet. |

Eastside hockey manager 2007 is no longer available for purchase. I looked at amazon.com and It is currently unavailable for purchase. However try looking for it at Sigames.com
