Expansion Button Greyed out

Hello folks first year i bought ootp ,and i think i've acumulated in the past months some decent understanding of the game editing and sorts.

I've started a mlb 2012 game and added mexican nippon and korean leagues i am in 2016 , and i wanted to put 4 expansion teams in mlb because in 2012 the game put 2 new ones Austin and Indianapolis, the problem is that i cannot push the button , eventhough in the all other leagues i can , in mlb i cant any solutions ? i can even post a screenshot if that will help u guys figure out my problem.

Cheers,

Can only be done during off-season/pre-season. I believe the mlb quickstart begins at ST, which is past those periods. You'll have to wait until your season is over.

No, you have to reach the off-season. Usually a day or two after the play-offs end.

The teams will join when you expand.

First off, what point are you at in your season? You say you've finished the play-offs. Have you advanced to the "Off Season"?

Once you get to the off-season, go to league setup, then bottom right of your screen there are some menu buttons. Click the one titled "functions", then look for the option to expand your league. You will then be presented with some options for your expansion, such as how many draft rounds, how many players can be protected, etc etc. All things pertinent to your expansion.

Do not, I say again, DO NOT enable the "Automatic League Evolution" in hopes of getting your league expanded by two teams. The "Automatic Evolution" feature is a very nice feature in the game, however in its current form it is not really practical or realistic. It needs some work/improvement. Leaving that checked will cause all kinds of changes to your league (depending on options checked) that you may or may not want/like.

Do your expansion the way I explained above. This way you are in complete control of the expansion.

Post back here if you're still having problems.
