Play-off eligibility

At the end of the regular season games, the trading option becomes available. I immediately traded for a catcher from Baltimore. (I'm Philly). Although I didn't choose it, I noticed the activate player option was available on new catcher. I was in play-offs. Could I have activated him for the play-offs even though he never played a game for my team all season? After wining play-offs, I activated him. When I won championship his name appears on the list of players of championship team and leaves out my catcher who was demoted during winter.
What are iootp eligibility requirements, if any?

I was able to go way Way WAY over budget doing this (about £90M over my allowed $200M)

It seemed ok but of course not only could I not sign any FAs bit I was also unable to sign my players to any contracts extensions.

After losing a 4* OF and a 5* 3B I had no option but to start releasing players from their contracts ... Greed never prospers etc etc

I was able to use players signed on the day the WS started ... but any signed after game one were not allowed to participate as the roster were fixed by then.

The option is there to activate but if the rosters are fixed then this woll cause the error message to display

iOOTP uses a simple transaction system (since we can't have full minor leagues due to hardware limitation and we want to keep the game simple), so it is possible what you do. The reason why the new catcher is listed and not the old one is simply because iOOTP will do the season progressing on January 1st and uses the roster on that day.

Minor Leagues (and transactions) is most likely an area were the game will improve with new hardware giving us more resources to work with.
