Schedule Editor?
I've been tinkering around with a solo fictional league after a long, long time playing only online. A question for the experts:
What I'd like to do is generate a 42-game summer season, starting in early April and ending in late August. I can set the season start date, but is there any way to designate a season end? Right now what it does is schedule 42 games with the season ending in May. Kind of surprised not to see a more robust schedule editor, but perhaps/hopefully I'm missing something. |

You're better of using a custom schedule.
Lots of good ones available on the MODs Forum - http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...-use-ootp.html Last edited by Bluenoser; 06-11-2012 at 06:02 AM. |

And with a little kicking around and figuring out the machinations of the XML files, it's easy to make your own.
Just open up one of the "smaller" schedules in the file. I mean right now I have a 38-game season starting in April and ending in November. |

Thanks, gents. Still, I'm surprised not to see a better schedule generator in v.13....

I've just been thinking, it wouldn't be that hard to write a program that let you input each game by hand have it written to the schedule file given the teams, day and start time (Windows Forms and a StreamWriter is the simplest way). It's a bit harder to automate that into an algorithm that generates a schedule for you though, but it could probably be done.

The current scheduler does pretty much that, doesn't it? Another possibility would be to have a "minimum # of off days between games" choice.

Yeah. I don't think it would be that hard to generate a schedule which had a set number of days between each game. Anything else (and sanity checking the schedules it produced) might be a bit harder. I MAY (very much emphasise the word "may") try and produce something like that at some point.
