This thread seems timely. It's about time I made a comeback.

Try a Minnesota league and have Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota and North Dakota leagues in the Association. Then kick their ass in the playoffs. Us Minnesota guys have to stick together!!

I like this idea, being a Minnesota guy. I may have to look into this, tho I have not used associations before.

I'm playing my high school conferenece. Very interesting. Although bumping into my old biology teacher wearing his new rug while I was trying to buy a pint of Jack was a bit awkward.

Okay, here are the cities I am thinking of using for my Upper Midwest/Great Lakes League...
Bismarck Fargo Rapid City Sioux Falls Omaha Lincoln Minneapolis St. Paul Rochester Des Moines Cedar Rapids Madison Milwaukee Chicago Wichita Topeka St. Louis Kansas City I would obviously narrow it down to 16 teams, so take away two teams as I don't want to do interleague play. Of those 18 cities, who are the 2 teams that don't make the list? |

As a non American I'd take two of Chicago, Kansas City or St Louis out of it. I know there are well populated places in the list but taking two of those or even all three and replacing one with another city/town would give it a non MLB feel.

No idea what your aiming for or your likes, baseball wise my likes and interests are the early 1900's to the late 50's and those places have that feel about them.

Yeah, now I just gotta decide what set up I want. If I want 2 divisions in each league with 4 teams per division or just one division of 8 teams in each league.

I've never liked 4 team divisions because it is too easy for a team with a sub .500 record to sneak into the playoffs. Better to have the top 2 in an 8-team league make the playoffs. With 13, a wild-card round between 2nd and 3rd and a bye for the league champion is now possible.
