"Stacking" Request Scouting Report

I frequently find myself wanting to scout several players, however whenever I add one request it simply seems to bump the previous request. I think it would be great if it stacked or scheduled these requests.

For example I request on player A and then request player B. currently I only get the report on B and my scout forgets all about A. I think it would be very helpful for the scout to complete his report on A and then move on to B. I nice adjustable list that allows me to add\remove and change priority would be excellent as well.

If anyone knows if there is a way to already do this that I have somehow missed and could direct me, that would be awesome.

If not, then I would like to officially request it be added to 13

Great idea. I requested this a few version back, but I feel you articulated it better than I. It would utilize the scout much better.

I agree. This would be a good feature to have.

It is how it is in Football Manager. You can run a quick search, get a list of names, then click guys who interest you and have them scouted. But in OOTP, you can only scout one guy at a time. It would be nice to just click all the guys in a list and have them scouted, one at a time still, but have them queued up, so I dont have to go back to that list and start up a new scout trip.

This is especially frustrating in an online leagues, which progresses 7 days in one sim. This leads to only one requested report per 7-day period. I would love to have the ability to set 7 scouting targets and allow my scout to look at one each day during a sim.

I'm pretty sure it used to do this. Or you could have three requests at once. Am I misremembering that?

well you used to have multiple scouts, and send them to do different jobs, much like FM.

But for the past few versions now, you can only scout one guy at a time. You click "request scouting report" on a bunch of guys, you will only get one report back.

Yes, you're correct. I forget what version it was that I first played (approx. 6-7 years ago), but there were multiple scouts and you could give them different jobs (scouting upcoming opponents, certain regions, your own organization, etc.). Once you gave a scout a job, the game would tell you how long it would take them to complete that job. And while they were in the middle of a job, you could pull them away to get an individual scouting report on a player, if I remember correctly.

That explains it. I was wondering why guys I requested a scout on werent getting any report. I thought I was doing it wrong or something. At least I know now.

And I would request this feature too. Saves time with going back into a list and finding the next guy.

I was also frustrated to not have a queue for the scout to work through. I will support this request too.

Sorry for the ignorance here but how do you "scout a player"? I'm a year into my MLB quick start and about to start my 2013 season and I just go to scouting report.

Is there a way to have a player scouted?

If you go that player and then go to actions at the bottom. Click on it and one of the options given to you is "request scouting report". Hope that helps

Thanks!! Will check when I get home. Should help me out a good bit. How long does it take to get a scouting report? A day or week?

What I would like to know, is why does my scout have a budget, if his reports aren't any more accurate, or timely? The only thing I've found it does is increase the likelihood of randomly finding "talent" on international trips (most of the time, they're 1/2 star talents)

If I give my scouting director a $3 million budget, he should be able to hire some help or something. If I'm using a small market team, why would I spend any more on scouting than I absolutely have to, when I could use the money to re-sign my best players.

It seems to me that they become more accurate. It has been a while since I had a small scouting budget, because increase in funds for scouting does seem to make them more accurate and more timely, and it seems that the info before a scouting report is more likely to be a bit accurate, so you can concentrate on players better, rather than blindly requesting reports on guys.,

Did I just learn that if you request a scouting report it will be more accurate than the general scouting reports you already have for each player?

Disclaimer: I'm not sure if I read this somewhere like the manual or another post, but my assumption is that the more times a player is scouted, the more accurate the scouting report becomes. An increased scouting budget means that your scout can scout more often during the year leading to more accurate reports. Presumably, requesting your scout to scout a certain player would add some accuracy to that player's report. Personally, I can't say that the accuracy improves by an amount that I notice, but if 'Request Scouting Report' doesn't lead to a more accurate report, than what exactly is the purpose of this feature?
