draft teams?
hey im about to play OOTP 13 and my plan is instead of just playing with a good team, i wanna take a really bad one and turn it around through great scouting. i know you can do all different types of things with scouting but is their a way to have like a "draft team" where you can get different peoples advice on who to take?
also, I had asked this earlier, lets say i have the worst rec and i have the #1 pick for 11', which would be bryce harper, isnt this a flaw? cause dont you, assuming you watch baseball, already know who turned out to be the best? for example, in alot of recent drafts the high picks dont pan out, but people like mat kemp were drafted in the 6th round. you already know ahead of time which players turned out to be good...so how does OOTP calculate that? like pujols going in the 13th round, does that mean if i played the year before that and went into next years draft, i know that i have 12 rds to get him? is this the case or am i missing something here? thanks, -bluejay99 |

It depends if you have recalc on... If you do, the players will perform very similar to how they did in real life. If you have it turned off it will be a little more random.. Players may be bust etc.
To my knowledge wether recalc is off or on if a player was/is good in real life they will be scouted that way and drafted early. If it wasn't for that than the human would obviously have a clear advantage on who is a steal and who is not. |

well doesnt that work the same with cutting players or trading players? like what if i have dontrelle willis, and hes an ace star pitcher, and i know his careers about to fall off the train tracks, i can trade him, and the computer will see how good he is and automatically accept? isnt that a "loophole" or does the game have this figured out as well? dumping or trading a good player before he goes down the dumpers.

I've also wondered If the AI acknowledges the real stats which would show a player about to have a rating drop. I would assume it does. I also think that this would apply only when recalc is turned on... Otherwise it can be pretty random. FYI im in 1929 in my league and I've noticed that with recalc on that I haven't had many bust... Pitchers can be iffy... But depending on injuries, I think all of the real life superstar POSITIONAL players have been close to spot on. There's definitely more surprises than busts.... I'll see a lot of pitchers, who in real life only played one season with bad stats, some will actually have a decent career in my league. Again the positional players are almost dead on. |
