Sending the Runner
I am not exaggerating, but 95% of the time when I send the runner, even if they are 8-10 rated runners, they are out. Maybe its the era I play in (deadball) and it doesn't matter if the ball is deep and the outfielder has a weak arm. I'm finding that I should never send the runner. What are your experiences with this?

I never play in the deadball era, so that might be a part of it, but in OOTP 12, I was having a similar experience before I started NEVER sending the runner when the ball was "very shallow". I'd now say that I' m just over a 50% success rate with never going for it with "very shallow" against any OF, or for anything less than "normal/medium (I forget which term is used)" against any OF with a great arm.

I never send the runner because I disable this option pre-game and leave it up to my manager. There isn't enough information available to make an informed decision- it's just guess work. The variables are infinite. Marcus added this feature in v11(?) succumbing to non-stop lobbying on the part of certain posters for its inclusion.

I have noticed no problems with it... although I have no experience in the dead ball era. At least I never feel that I'm getting thrown out at an extreme rate. A decent runner against a not-so-decent outfield arm is pretty much a guaranteed green light... and I get thrown out enough... even below average arms nail a good one now and then.
