Question on the "Real MLB" draft

Here is my question.

In the real MLB draft each year does the draft class consist of only players who are currently playing baseball in the US. Are foreign players who are not playing in the US simply signed by Scouts from the individual MLB teams.

I would imagine if foreign players are not in the draft that there is some age restriction on how old they have to be- my guess is 17.

To be drafted one must be a citizen of the United States, or a US Territory (e.i. Virgin Islands) or Canada.

Actually, to be drafted, the requirement is that a player must be a RESIDENT of the United States or U.S territories.

Uh no. Residents of Canada can be drafted.

Edit; foreign players attending HS or College in the US, US territories and Canada are draft eligible.

I think Slugga was referring to my mistake that one must be a CITIZEN of the United States to be drafted. Where as the correct answer is one must be a resident only.

besides making someone be a citizen is "racist"
