Same here. Wish this award would be 1 of the normal awards since for 2 of my leagues that also use the Custom Award as the fireman I don't manually vote for awards in those leagues. Just my main league I play.

In my games I call it the SABR Stat Beast Award. It goes to the guy with the highest VORP and WAR (if these are not the same, it is who is closest to topping both) and I let the AI pick the MVP winner and never change it. So I kind of have a traditional old media members type best hitter award and another one given out by people who prefer the new numbers. Around half the time the same player wins both awards.

Yeah, that one makes me want to scratch the same itch as my old IRS% I've been clamoring for....oh, well.

To the point, I use it for the league MVP basically, typically going by VORP whether it's pitcher or hitter, then looking at the team's finish and deciding if that contribution really made an 'effective' difference. If it's a toss up, it goes to popularity.

I use it to award the league leader in steals, depending on era/league, usually named after a famous base stealer. Rickey Henderson, for modern leagues, Lou Brock for 90s, Maury Wills for 70s-80s, Ty Cobb before that.

No, I don't use it. I don't even know how it works.

I use it for relief pitcher of the year. I use the Outstanding hitter award as my MVP. I don't like pitchers winning the MVP.

i renamed almost all my awards..

the Ty Cobb Batting Champion Award...the Cy Young Pitching Champion Award...i kept Rookie of the Year and Gold Glove Award..but the last award I named the Jackie Robinson MVP Award...i thought his name should be in there...

i even named my minor leagues' awards also..just to give THE LEAGUE some flair

Wouldn't that be awesome? It would be really cool to name the award after great players in your league and have the history reflect the name change. I like this idea.

Again, I also think it would be great to have custom awards as well.

It's a text field that you fill in with a title, and at the end of the season you manually select a player for the award. It's among the simplest features in OOTP!

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.
