ootp 13 bb card question...

Again I feel that a big thank you should go out to the many ppl that create mods for ootp !!! I can only try to imagine the hours spent....WOW, you ppl are amazing !!

Obviously Im new here but ive done a fair amount of searching and reading on the forums, but due to it being a version (13) I wasn't sure if there had been changes on how to get the bb cards to show up in game. I assume they have been due to the fact I could find the. config/app.cfg (see Preferences dialog)
thats referenced in the readme thats located in \My Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 13\bb_cards\templates folder.
Also noticed that said readme was referencing ootp 12.

What I have done and is, I have downloaded a few card sets and i have copied over the files that were in the 02 stadium club zip (that i downloaded) and pasted them in my \My Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 13\saved_games\milwaukee 1test 2012.lg\news\html\images\bb_cards.

the question is assuming i'm correct so far, can someone please give me a step by step list on what i must do next to create these in my saved game ?
also few other questions

1) can a person create or play more than one game or quick start at a time in ootp ? not meaning trying to load more than one at a time, but rather switch between games say every other day for example.

2) I've noticed that theres facegen files for download but theres also photos for download...whats the difference as far as applying them to the game ?

oh and trust me I have tons more questions...this things sucking the life out of me !!! geeesh
and also need to thank klavier for his many cards !!!!!!!!!

Well, I believe they are created automatically for All-Stars and World Champions if you have the option set in Game Setup, Player and Picture Options.

If the option is on, then you can click a button on the player profile as well, under Pictures. A dialog comes up in which you can name the card and select from a number of formats included with the game.

I also know that it's very easy to load one saved game after another, so you can switch back and forth. I'll let somebody else comment on the photos; I play strictly fictional but I am aware of historical photos and FaceGen images of real players that can be loaded into the game. 1. Yes you can create a hundred games if you want.
2. Facegens go in the fg_files folder. Real photos go in the Photos folder.
The only difference as to there use are the settings/options you need to set. And you can use both types in a game. I use real pics for the Majors and most of the minors. I use facegen for the ones I don't have.
The advantages of using facegen is they will change uniforms and such when the player changes teams as well as age as the player ages.

Now for bbcards, Make a backup of the default ootp folder first. Then place your xml's in your bb_cards\templates\ootp 13 folder and overwrite the originals. That's why you want to make the backup of the originals first. Tends to keep things neater this way.
Put the images in the bb_cards\templates\ootp 13\images folder. These are the only place the templates should go. They don't go in any saved_games folder.
The game auto creates cards for
1.All-Star game
2. Hall of Fame selection
3. Awards (best hitter, best pitcher, rookie of the year & gold glove) that's it so far.
4. End of year it creates a card for everyone.
There's one setting to turn on or off baseball cards and thats on the "game setup "player and picture options" page on the right."" I believe that it's on by default.
You can manually create a card for anyone using any different xml by bringing up a players screen and clicking the "pictures" tab on the bottom right of screen and click on "baseball cards". Click new in that popup and click the little down arrow and select the xml you want to use and click ok and the card will be created and placed in your saved games\news\html\images\bb_cards folder.

BTW: That read me in the bbcards is outdated. It should say ootp 13 not 12. But nothing has changed except for one addition to the xmls. It's not needed for the mods to work though.
