Starting pitcher fatigue issue

I'm having serious issues with the fatigue of my starting pitchers. I noticed over the past 4 games that my starters have been getting lit up for 3+ runs in the first inning. I thought maybe it was just a fluke, but now I realize something funny is going on.

I wasn't really paying attention to pitcher fatigue early in the game, other than making sure my pitchers were 100% rested to start the game. I wouldn't bother looking at their fatigue until midway through the game, but during my most recent game, where my pitcher gave up a 2-run homer to the third batter of the game, I decided to check, and saw that my starter was "exhausted" and only at 9% rested. And I made sure to check prior to starting the game to make sure he was 100% rested.

After seeing this I now think that this has been the issue in the previous few games as well. What gives? I haven't changed any settings, so why is this happening all of a sudden? Has anybody else had this problem?

That has something to do with the game, it does this after the first pitch I believe, but is purely cosmetic and doesn't mean he's really exhausted. I'm not sure why that status changes like that but pay attention to the in-game stamina not what it shows on their player card.
