Thanks for all the props everyone. I am working on getting everything ready and I'm even getting pretty excited about this. I hope to have the website up and running and the game downloadable within the next day or two (probably 2 to be honest).
With that in mind, I think I only have 6 email addresses out of the thirty teams from this forum thread. The Braves, Astros, Dodgers, Yankees, Tigers, and A's. I'll need to send out invites to everyone (so the site can't get spammed) via email so if the rest of you would like to send me your addresses via PM I'll be sending those invites out soon. I will use the below list as the 1st comes, however, I have noticed that someone else has posted a 2012 league so I assume we may lose some of the owners below to that league (which may or may not have a head-start on me.) We'll get this thing up and running!!!!! Quote:

Hey there all...
The PM's have poured in today which is a good sign. I suppose I should let you all know that I work during the day and can't really respond to them in a timely fashion. I usually get home around 5 (central time), so please don't be alarmed if I don't get back to you right away. A little about the settings that I planned on using so those that are on the fence can fall off one way or another... Sims: 3/week I'm thinking Mon, Wed, and Fri. Time/sim: Either 1 week, or 2 weeks...to be decided by league vote on forum once up. Rosters: Historical 2012 Scouting/Coaches: Off/Off Ratings: 1-10 Injury Ratings: Low Everything else is pretty much the standard default 2012 MLB settings (i.e. financials, a.i. strategies, etc.) There will be a couple of league specific rules that I'll discuss on the forum page. It's nothing too earth shattering, just a couple of things that I learned from past leagues that seem to make leagues run better. With all that said, I'm going to get back to working on the web-site and I hope to see some more PM's soon. I'll probably put out the list later of those addy's that I have and maybe put a deadline on the reserved spots because I have gotten a couple more that would like to have teams that we didn't have spots for.

awesome...those are important, and they just happen to be what i personally prefer. of course, i'm just speaking from my own point of view.
default TCR makes for some big-time ratings swings, and diminishes the value of prospects, since it's almost a coin flip whether or not top prospects make it big, or totally flop, but it also allows for the possibility of lower rated prospects improving dramatically, which a lot of people like. for myself, i think it's a little too volatile (is that even a word), and people really bum out when their better players/prospects turn sour...and i think it makes luck more of a factor than i like it to be...but i certainly don't expect everything to be exactly the way i like it. it's not possible to please everyone, and we all need to be a little flexible...which i am. ![]() Mark |

Oh!!!!
2 more things to consider... If you haven't installed the new patch yet, you will have to do this. THE LEAGUE WILL NOT WORK CORRECTLY FOR YOU IF YOU DON'T. Also, this is completely optional, but most people end up using AIM (instant messenger) for working out trades. It's not necessary, but it may make your experience better.

Hope you guys like everything so far.

Quick league file question... Are we using the one that initially comes with the game.. or are we waiting for the updated MLB rosters that is supposed to be part of the next patch?

I am patched to this file...
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...-released.html In fact, if you DON'T patch to this, I'm 99% positive the game won't upload or download correctly for you. If you're not sure what you have, when you first load up the game, it tells you at the very bottom of the screen.

If you are answering my above post.. I was talking about the MLB rosters.. not the OOTP patch. There is supposed to be up to date rosters with changes due at the next patch which is supposed to be around the 19th I believe Markus said..

Now to answer your question...I believe in patching whenever available (though there will be circumstances that may prevent this during the course of a league). Unfortunately, I don't think this will help any roster changes. I think it will only affect the bug fixes and such. I've already created the game and as such, I don't think the roster changes will take place inside the saved game file. I would simply re-create the game, but I've already tied it to the web-site and have it working. I could re-do this all, but I think the time would be better spent pushing things forward (I think it took me about 2 hours or so). I've still got quite a bit of work to do to get things ready. I hope this doesn't damper any enthusiasm about the league.

I understand the idea of keeping up with the patches.. All I'm saying is that with the upcoming patch, there will be new and updated MLB rosters... I was just asking if we will be switching to those.. or staying with the one you have implemented now....And it seems we are staying with the current one... was just checking that out.... looking forward to the league
