Maddie's doing great- John plans on formally introducing her to his parents next time he's in Boston.

Brandon Wood actually just got traded to the Milwaukee Brewers about 2 weeks ago in game time. He wasn't getting much done for the Angels and they shipped him off for some minor league prospects who don't look like too much. He was disappointed, but he's been terrible so far, batting only .186 combined this year. He now fully supports the relationship because of how good John has become. As he put it, "If you two get married at least we'll have one superstar athlete in the family"

Also, I will once again start updating this dynasty. I continue to be awful at doing it, but it will be done.

Anderson Fashions Shutout- August 1st, 2014

Angels pitcher John Anderson did his job today, blanking the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium. He scattered 2 singles while striking out 9 in the 2-0 shutout, rebounding from a four inning, six run outing last Sunday against Baltimore. He shut out Kansas City for the second time this year

The win lowers Anderson's league leading ERA to 2.30.

Anderson allowed a hit to the second batter he faced, but settled down and retired 15 straight before Reynaldo Navarro poked a single over shortstop Nate Samson's head.

The Angels have now won 5 in a row, increasing their lead in the AL West to five games.

Samson hit a home run with two outs in the top of the third, giving the Angels a 1-0 lead. One batter earlier, Alexi Amarista was caught stealing second base after singling to right.

Samson drove in Mark Reynolds with the second run with a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning. With runners on first and third one batter later, B.J. Upton was caught stealing second, ending the inning and the threat. But the Angels needed no more runs, as Anderson was on top of his game.

NOTES: In two starts this year against Kansas City, Anderson has pitched 18 innings, striking out 19 and allowing only three hits and no walks.

Part of the Post Game Press Conference

Sam Andrews, LA Times: "What was your goal today?"

John Anderson: "You know, I just wanted to get out there and pitch a good game. I felt a bit rough in the first few innings, but I settled down I think. It's good to help the team like this."

SA: "I don't know if you remember, but last time you faced Kansas City, you pitched another shutout, with only one hit that time."

JA: "I do remember. That was a great game too. Nothing against KC, but I think I must just have their number, or something..."

John got a call from Nick later that night. Apparently Nick had just decided to switch his major, although John wasn't sure if it was real or not. He had been majoring in Business, but now, he claimed that he was going to switch to a double major in Romance and Robotics. Something didn't seem right to John about this though... A few jokes about Maddie later, John hung up. What to do in celebration... Maddie was back in LA, and he didn't want to do anything with the team, because he would distract them from their game.

Around 10 PM, he went to the pool, for his last hour before the team's curfew, and lay back in the hot tub, relaxing. What a great day, what a great season so far. If only his team would give him more run support.

My real life brother did actually make the joke about Romance and Robotics- can anyone figure out what the joke is?
John is 12-8 with a 2.30 ERA and 223 strikeouts. He leads in WAR by a long shot, and is the heavy favorite to win the Cy Young this year.
