Some questions

Hey guys,
I'm really happy to find out that there is a new hockey manager being released. I hope this game will be as great as OOTP/FM is. I've been playing EHM 2007, due to lack of new ones, with updated 11/12 rosters and all. It will suit me for now, although it is kind of a pain that the game does not run on fullscreen on my widescreen monitor.

1) Will the game feature a 2D (or 3D) engine simulation like EHM 2007 & the many FM games have? 2D would be fine for me.

2) It's probably unlikely, but will the game have the Dutch hockey league? We're not big, that I know, nor do I actually care much for the Dutch hockey league in real life. But it would be fun to actually play as one in a game, when I am tired of playing NHL for a while.

Can't wait for this game to unfold, I've played many Football Manager games in the past years and some OOTP games, and only just started playing EHM 2007. But hockey is a interest to me besides football and baseball, and it will be great to see an up to date game being released.

i think it was mentioned somewhere on here that there will be no 2d engine in the first version.

No, we don't have the time to incorporate a 2d-engine and therefore we will use a text-based game presentation.

No. For now, to be honest, several leagues have a higher priority than the Eredivisie.

Alright. Thanks for the answers, it was to be expected, but it doesn't bother me for the first version. The game will be fine being text-based and not having our mediocre Eredivisie.

Hey guys!

First of all THANK YOU for starting hockey manager project. I've been a EHM fan ever since it was first released.

I was envolved for sometime updating the rosters/updating images for EHM in the forums of thebreakaway.net, but I had to let it go due to work issues. Now, I just found out about the project and the old flame came to life.

After quickly browsing through the thread I didn't fins answers to my thoughts. As the thread says I have a few questions.

1. Will the game have player/coach/extra staff images?

2. If so, has it been determined what size those images would be?

3. What is the starting date of the game aka, Which season is the first on the game?

4. Is there a list of leagues that will be in the game?

I'd be happy to use some spare time to pick up some images, what ever the leagues are. If there are no images in the game, you've read this message for nothing.

Thanks!

Yes, it will have them.

Technically yes as the hockey game will share a very similar interface as OOTP 13. I'm in the middle of the iOOTP 2012 release but I will look up the exact sizes.

If everything goes as planed the first season will be 2012/13.

You will have playable leagues and non-playable leagues. The last time I looked we already had a huge list of non-playable leagues (down to minor Canadian junior leagues, college leagues and European 2/3 tier leagues). The number of playable leagues will mostly be determined by the number of researchers we can get but we want at least the NHL, AHL, ECHL and all CHL's to be included in the first version.

Thanks for quick answers. If you don't have anyone for the Finnish SM-League, I'd like to take a crack at it. Hopefully I'm not alone, though.

One thing more...well, this is more of a suggestion than request or a question.

One thing with EHM was that you couldn't choose your own affiliate teams. I mean, if the affialiate teams would be made "contract-based" rather that "hard-coded" it would more fun to the manager to find the team an affiliate team from the AHL or the ECHL rather than playing with the same affialiate year after year.

That is like a feature from FM, and I hope it finds a way here.

That would also make an interesting challenge if you manage a lower level team because it would mean your roster could change drastically.

minor league affiliations are always changing sometimes as a result of the team going to another league. I'd love to have the ability to change those things in a "commish mode" similar to ootp for the first version.

Going to another league, yes, in european leagues, but I was talking about NHL teams having affiliate teams in the AHL and ECHL (Sometimes even CHL).

But sure, I wouldn't mind having affiliate teams in european legues too.

Have you had any chance of looking up those sizes?
