About The HBA:

The Heartland Baseball Association showcases 20 clubs from across the Midwest region of the United States. Each team competing for a common goal - the Midwest Cup.

League Activity?:

The HBA is perhaps the most active new league in OOTP. On an average day, 85% of the league members will log into the forum and export each simulation. Only two months into the inaugural year, we've already managed to acquire 1.5 thousand posts in the league forum, nearly every franchise has posted a trade block, and 6 swaps have already been made.

We even include a unique feature known as 'GM Press Conferences'.

Throughout the season, GM's of interest will be randomly contacted by myself requesting an interview.

Once an interview has been requested, the selected owner will be able to either deny or accept the offer. Each interview will cover five questions, and the respondents can reply as extensively as they would like.

By Joining This League, you must abide by these terms.

- Treat all league members with respect.
- Export at least twice per week.
- Be active in the league forums.

I'd like to recommend this league to anyone interested in a good fictional.

I was an owner for a short period but had to leave due to over comitting myself. This is a new league and has gotten off to a very good beginning. The activity is high and some rivalries have begun already.

Gavin and the guys have done a fantastic job of getting the league up and running. There's been a few growing pains, and likely will be a few more, but the commitment I'm seeing from those involved in running the league is excellent. There's good discussion as things arise and get ironed out. All around a well run league.

Get on board while the league is new, you won't regret it.

We have an opening once again...

Omaha Outlaws

Record: 42-58

If you're one of those owners that loves a challenge, this is a perfect fit for you! The Outlaws compete in what is arguably the most difficult division in the HBA (Prairie Division), and currently rank fourth of five. Omaha is led by young hurler Drake Cosmos, superstar closer Jasper Webb, and SS Butch Williams. They have a bullpen that ranks among the best in baseball, an average rotation, and very minimal offensive production.

Financially the Outlaws have plenty of budget room to sign some big free agents in the off-season. Omaha has an average minor-league system (10/20), with a few solid prospects.

With the inaugural amateur draft just around the corner, the Outlaws should have a great opportunity to snag some top prospects.

2011 Record: 87-75 (1st Place WILD CARD)

The Lions made the 2011 Heartland Baseball Association playoffs as a Wild Card, finishing in second place behind in the Lakeside League Coastal Division behind the Detroit Sabres. The last GM was dedicated, and managed the club well. The franchise is led by star 1B Nick Gilbert, RF Bruce Taylor, and top-closer Dave Moore who is the top candidate for the top reliever award.

As a team, the Lions had the best overall ERA in the league in 2011 at 3.72.

The Lions have the 10th best rated farm-system in the HBA, and will have the 15 Overall selection in the 2011 Amateur Draft.

We are currently just beginning the off-season, so now is a great time to take control!
