Draft Pick Compensation for Other Major Leagues?

Simply put, what happens if you sign a player from another Major League (that does not even have a draft)? Is the signing team still responsible for a compensatory pick?

Good question, I'm wondering this as well.

I had this happen, but didn't really say anything, and i didn't bother attempting to sign any Type As because I had a top 5 draft pick. I wasn't sure if I'd lose it for those guys from other leagues, and I didn't wanna take that chance.

I had a type A I was waiting and waiting to sign and I never got that email about draft compensation. How it turns out he signed in my Korean league and I didn't receive anything, which was a bummer.

Also if you have a Top 15 pick and sign a Type A, the other team will get your 2nd round pick. You can never lose a top half of the 1st round draft pick due to compensatory picks.

Good to know. Also, it appears that I have NOT lost my first-rounder to this other major league.
