Grading the Amateur Draft Report

While I don't have a specific vision for what this would look like, it seems to me a report on a teams drafting effectiveness might be a great addition to the game. For example, every now and then you see ESPN do a retrospective on a teams drafting effectivenessover the past five years or so. My idea is to have the game produce a report (like a top prospects report) that details a teams drafting effectiveness.

For example, a report could look at the past 5, 10, or 15 years (or alltime)of the draft and tell you how many All-Stars, MVPs, Cy Youngs, HOF, or simply major league players you produced from your draft picks.

The report might be able to show what percentage of your first rounders made the bigs, 2nd rounders, etc.

The report could show how your performance has been compared to the average of the other teams in the league, (% of All-Stars versus the average), or some sort of formula could be devised to calculate a drafting "power ranking".

1. I like the concept as a fun stat to look at to guage my draft performance without trying to track down all my former draft picks.
2. It might be helpful for a team to identify drafting weaknesses to try a new strategy (ie pick more college pitchers because my highschool picks are going bust too frequently)
3. There seems to me to be numerous possible ways to play with the data the game already records to create interesting and enjoyable statistics based on draft performance not just this year for years into the future of development.

Does anyone else have any thoughts? Good idea? Terrible idea? Unworkable?

I think this would be a cool idea, as long as it is a quick feature to add.

This idea is pretty cool. All the information is in the game already, so it hopefully i wouldn't be that hard to add a report that pulls all that info together.

I think there is something like this in Statslab, just another reason to wish Statslab worked for single player
