Champions League Baseball (CLB) has open teams
Are you tired of joining a league only to see it flop after a season? Are you tired of inactive forums and owners who don't care about their team? Come to us with the peace of mind that we're going to be around for a long while with owners who genuinely care about their team and the league. Run by a dedicated commissioner (no team), there are very few leagues that can compare to the quality here. Owners are writing articles without a reward system in place. The trade market is active. And with a Facebook-style instant messaging program on the site, it can't be easier to negotiate a trade. Why subject yourself to the mediocre league any longer? About the commissioner: I put great care into league settings and pay close attention to trends and adjust accordingly. I don't run a dictatorship league, but rather like to get league members involved in the decision making process when it comes to these decisions. I am constantly looking for ways to improve the forums and bring owners closer together. My goal isn't to have just an OOTP online league, it's to have a social community of people who love baseball. A couple of features I've included are StatsLab, a twitter feed, and a rumor mill where owners can post anonymously about trade rumors. I am also looking into adding a fantasy baseball program that will revolve around the players in CLB. What we expect of newcomers: We expect owners to care for their team competitively and add to the social community by being an active member on the forums. We don't expect you to write articles every day, or every week, or even at all. But we expect that you participate in a community based around an OOTP league by posting on the forums. It requires a certain amount of dedication, but nothing overwhelming - we realize that people have jobs, lives, wives and girlfriends. At the end of the day, Champions League Baseball is here to bring a group of baseball fans together to have some fun!How to apply: Please head over to our forums and register for an account. 1. I have been playing OOTP for about 3 years. I am involved in 1 other online league right now, so joining this league wouldnt be much of an issue as far as devoting time to both leagues.
2. I am from Minnesota, and my favorite team is the Minnesota Twins, so that is the team in which I would like to be in control of. 3. My plans for Twins organization are to get younger at a number of positions while building around the M & M boys. This would primarily be done by acquiring some good, young starting pitchers to replace the very average (and somewhat old) rotation. But overall, I am open to any opportunity that presents itself as far as what direction to take the team. 4. I am extremely interested in joining! (I wasnt sure if to PM you or post on the thread). |

AIM- UThater75 email- byrd.matt75@gmail.com 1. OOTP League Experience- Started playing 6.5 about 4-5 years ago then moved on to a few other versions. I haven't played in about a year due to the birth of my son but I'm back and ready to go. I've had varying levels of success but I've been competitive in all leagues I've been in. How long that took of course depended on the situation. lol 2. Desired team- Texas Rangers (lifelong Ranger fan but if they aren't available I will take any team) 3. Your plans with desired teams- I've never been a fan of a complete tear down and rebuild. I'm very specific about the players I pick up if we're looking at the Rangers they're competitive now so just minor tweaking at a few positions like 1B/DH, and corner OF. Other teams at the bottom provide a more clean slate. I try to blend younger talent with cost effective veterans and stay away from prospects who are too far away. Very interested in joining and getting back into the swing of OOTP. Hopefully there is a spot left. I would have sent this via PM but my account isn't yet approved for PMs apparently. |

Looking to join AiM screen name is Tankards1975
1. OOTP League Experience (including amount of time played and success with teams) I used to play back when ootp 6 came out and played alot just had problems with ootp7. I purchased this version and everything is running fine. 2. Desired team--- I would love to the Blue Jays, but if not i guess the Pirattes. 3. Your plans with desired teams (Are you going to rebuild? Go for a championship? Explain how you will accomplish these goals) I believe in building from the ground up and the pirattes do have some strong young talent. For my picks i go for what is best for the team and what we need not who is best. Fan support will love building up and seeing them grow and winning a championship team. I look forward and playing the game with everyone. Cheers!!!! |

Yanks
1 have been an online league member for the last 3yrs, current owner of Puerto Plata in the WBH (world baseball hierarchy). I field very competitive teams and typically have a robust farm system with which to trade for key pieces or backfill expensive players.
2 Yankees, cuz nobody wants to deal with this mess. I am typically very conservative on payroll, and I like that this team will be a 180 from how I normally manage. Polar opposite of team I own in WBH. 3 Go for championship this year and will eventually wind down the older large salaries and try to build back up in a sustainable way so that I am not always setting the market on free agents. Then again, you'd be a fool to not go after the best talent available if you have the cash... Balances will be the key as well as maintaining fan interest. Please let me know if accepted. Looking forward to this. Thanks. |

I'd like in...
I have very little online league experience with ootp12, but have the time to devote to being a good member of teh community. If I could just get my foot in the door.
I'll take the Rockies The Rockies have a few weakspots but could be a contender, they have a few good young pitchers, and have made a few pickups in the offseason. I'd use that base and try to build on it, wouldn't rule out trading a bat for some more arms, we'll just see how it goes. P.S. Have you guys started yet? email: jackson.schilling@gmail.com Last edited by Jax Powers; 02-12-2012 at 07:36 PM. Reason: added email |

Moneyball in Action
Hey!
In all honesty, I have absolutely no online OOTP experience, but I have been an extensive offline modder and experimenter, bouncing ideas back and forth with another friend who convinced me to buy my first version (OOTP11). I have plenty of time to dedicate to running a team and be a valuable member to the league; all I need is someone to help me learn how to play online. I like a challenge, such as taking a small-market team that no one thinks has a chance at winning, and turning them into a contender with limited resources. For that reason, I greatly admire Doug Melvin (Brewers GM) and Billy Beane (A's GM). Since the Brewers are already taken, I would relish the opportunity to play as the A's. At the current moment, depending on the state of the rosters, we would need to rebuild and work on acquiring better prospects and better scouting in general. I hope that in two seasons or so, we will have the financial capability, promising rookies, and seasoned veterans to compete with the best (and maybe to move to San Jose County?). You can contact me at jdredemann@gmail.com, or PM me. Thanks!
