Ok took a little time and reviewed the entire transaction report from my last completed season. I saw no releases by cpu teams due to injury\rehab.
One other way to check is in the transaction report you will see something like.. Chi Cubs: sent Joe Baseball on rehab to AAA You can then click on Joe Baseball's name and instantly see if he is still part of the Cubs organization. If he is not then open his history tab and you can how he was moved IE trade, FA, etc. I clicked on several guy like this and never found anyone that was released or waived during a rehab assignment. |

Looking at this again today and have come up with, at least for me, the best way to check this out. I am going to go through all transactions at the end of each month in my current season which is almost through May. I will be using the "sent" entry as listed below to key on players that have actually been on rehab. Quote:
If he still has days remaining I then make a note with reminder so I can check on him as soon as his rehab time is up. IE if Joe Baseball is on rehab with 15 days remaining I make a note right from his card with a reminder set for 16 days. When I get the reminder I can check to see if he is still on the same team. If not I will then look through his history and game log and should be able to easily see what happened. Even with note taking we're only talking about 2 to 5 minutes to complete. FWIW after checking my current league at almost 2 months complete I have not seen any rehab players be released or switch clubs. I have two guys currently on rehab with reminder notes in my system and will know about them in 14 and 19 days. Again for simcrazy, this not heavy testing nor time consuming if you play all of your games out one at a time. I'd challenge you to also do this same test and let us know what you find. |

If it's not an issue, I suppose it means that the AI somehow uses the rehab feature differently? I would love to know why, if this is the case. I did just check the league I am furthest in, but it's only May 26th. No issue, but there have only been 2 or 3 completed rehab assignments. Last edited by simcrazy; 01-18-2012 at 07:03 PM. |

Yeah, I don't think it is either. It doesn't take a lot of extra time to check on. If no real world issues come up I should be able to finish this season before v13 comes out.

There are only two possibilities: (1) It's an issue (2) It's not an issue (I'm no troll - I really hope this is the case) in which case the AI has different "rules" for rehab setbacks than humans, because it is clearly an issue for humans. If this is the case, I hope it is, I would like to know why it is an issue for humans and not AI. |

What I observed is that there is a ridiculously low number of rehab assignments, which does mean that this issue, if it exists, won't occur often. However, given enough time, it probably will pop up. It might take a couple years or even more, but it's a good thing that this bug is being addressed in OOTP13. |

If the bug is being addressed in OOTP 13 then I don't understand why the controversy about it persists.

Um, because OOTP13 is not released? And most of us are playing away at OOTP12? This makes it worthwhile to understand if it is an issue or not, right?

It is clearly an issue, just a rare one of questionable severity. I am satisfied with the fact that Markus is taking a look at it for v. 13.

That's fine. I agree with you. Others were concluding that it is not an issue, and it's OK to disagree respectfully.

That's three months (in game). One season's sample size and only 1/3 of that season. That's not enough to label something a bug is my point. A point, by the way, that I didnt make based on the poster, so please stop whining to the mods about 'malice' when there's none present.

Which is more data than you've assembled to prove there is a problem. Recall that you claimed—hypothetically, without any actual evidence—that there might well be a problem. The evidence acquired this far disproves your claim.
If you can cite evidence indicating otherwise, then by all means please do so. It would go a long way to bolstering your case. |
