i'm sorry to ask this here and i've seen this question answered earlier in this post, but the answer isn't working for me.

i've downloaded the rosters and i have tried to extact them into the game_save file, but i can't find it.

the only files i can see in my ootp12 folder to extract to are "date, fonts, skins, misc." and a few others.

is the game_save a file i have to create? is the extraction something i do from within the game?

sorry to ask the newbie questions, but i'm really looking forward to my 2012 sim getting underway.

It should be in there as "saved_games"... that's what it is by default.

Enjoy guys! Going to keep working on the file over the weekend, but wanted to get this out there. Some fixed (hopefully) financials, and slightly tweaked league modifiers. Also included some recent international guys (Darvish, Aoki, Wada, etc.) as well as updated ZiPS ratings for teams that have come out since the last release.

Give the updated financials & totals a shot going into the future and see if there's improvement. I haven't modified the player development quite yet, that'll take some longer term testing. If you are concerned with it, I would suggest changing prospects developing to .950 across the board and perhaps tweaking aging curve the same.

Next release will include one regular file and another with updated roster moves and photopacks. Just haven't had much time to work on the file in general, so put that on the backburner for the moment.

NOTE: Please keep in mind that MLB ratings haven't been redone for about 1/3 of the teams. Thus guys like Brett Lawrie are criminally underrated. I am aware.

Next version will include more updates to MLB ratings as ZiPS are released, updated prospects and a current MLB roster file with offseason moves completed.

Here's whats in this file:

- Updated 2011 statistics & history
- MLB and minor league free agents as of 11/1/11
- Rerated players on teams with ZIPS projections out (about 20/30 teams)
- Updated coaching staffs at MLB level, owners
- Updated service times based on 2011 service time
- Updated contracts, etc.

Side note: Does anyone know where you can find 3+ year park factors? It sounds strange, but the only place I seem to be able to find anything is single-years at ESPN.

Do the zips only effect younger guys/prospects? Are the rosters done enough to get a decent game going aside from a few younger guys from a few teams?

I would say absolutely. I've played through and since the players were re-rated around September of this year, they are solid enough to get a game going.

Unfortunately not yet. They will be when I hit prospects, but was too hard to port them over from the draft classes from the latest OOTP11 2011 rosters, so I'll have to create them manually.

You can check out the current ZiPS projections that have been released here (BBTF's Transaction Oracle) - outside of MIL/COL, everyone else who has had ZiPS come out have been re-rated.

If I get this notification when I load up what will I be missing?

Could not open the historical_import_path 'C:\
Documents and Settings\Garrett\My Documents\
Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 12\stats'

Also I noticed that the initial 13 emails in the inbox are all blank. Thought that was weird. I will play around with it more tonight. Thanks!

Does it still let you load? If so, that's just my default path to import historical players - there should be somewhere in the league setup that lets you change it to wherever your Lahman database is on your hard-drive.

For some reason the facegen is disabled on the new rosters. I managed to get them to work when I set the facegen troubleshooting to 2. None of the major league uniforms load though, I have to reload each individually. Is there a simple fix for this?

I'm going to hit rosters hard on Saturday/Sunday this weekend, that'll be one thing I look into. If anyone knows a quick-fix, please share!

Will create a new thread for next release, it will likely be the first "real" release, although I do think the current file is very playable since it incorporates a lot of ratings from just the end of 2011.

Apologies if anyone gets frustrated from all of the multiple releases, I know it probably can be tough to deem when to start your own league - I wanted to do this a bit more this year, as with my schedule, there can pop up some stretches where I don't get a chance to work on rosters at all, and want to periodically release what we do have done.

Try Park Factors for Friday, January 6, 2012 and click on each park.

You would have to sign all top Draft Picks to a contract assign them to the team on blank roster.
