Reformatted, need help finding saved game.

Megavirus destroyed my hardrive before I could do anything. I reformatted going from xp to win7. I managed to save my Saved Games folder, hoping that it would at least save my progress even thought it would lose everything I spent countless hours tweaking. Now I cant find the saved games folder on win7 to replace. This is the only path I see: Computer/local disk(C)/program files/out of the park developments/OOTP baseball 12/ Then the only actual folders I have are Data, Default data, uninstall. Where did all the dozens of other folders go from when I installed on xp? I am using win7 for the first time today, maybe I'm missing something obvious. Please help.

Try "c:users\your name\app data\roaming\Out of the Park Developments\ootp 12. I think you have to "unhide" folders as well. I don't do default installs so I could be totally wrong, but it's a start. Usually in Win 7 any program's folder that can't be found in either "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86) will either be hidden or in your users\name\app data folder.

Since you seem to be new to Win 7, I highly suggest you Create a recovery disk. Then, if you have room on your drive, create a folder called "backup" and create a backup and burn it to disk as well. Will save you a ton of headaches in the future should you ever get infected/corrupted again..I've done it, used it and it works like a charm.

Thanks bigrod, but I don't have an "app data" folder or a "roaming folder". This was just a last ditch effort anyway. The sad thing is that I created a backup of my game shortly before all of this happened, thinking I could just transfer it to my memory stick and put it on the new HD but it was way too big so I just tried copying the saved games folder. I figured I could just copy the old saved game folder over the new one when I reinstalled ootp but now I can't find the saved game folder(or any of the other folders) in win7.

You can do what your trying to do...The reason you can't find the folders is that they are hidden. You need to unhide them in Win 7. Do this by opening windows explorer and click on tools, click on folder options, click on view and under "Hidden files and folders" click on "Show hidden files, folders, and drives" and click apply. Now you should be able to find the folders you need. I can't remember if you need to reboot for the changes to take effect or not. I don't think you do, but it never hurts to do so.
If you still can't see them, you may need to repeat the above procedure and this time put a checkmark in the "show hidden system files" or something like that.

Awesome, thanks bigrod. I didn't find a way to unhide folders but I will keep looking. In my search I was able to find all of the folders, in the documents folder for some reason, and replaced the saved games folder. I can't believe it worked. Other than the news and messages it seems to have saved everything but my uniform logos. This is awesome news, thanks again. I'm creating a backup right now.

Hey Zoomzilla I use win7 and to find all my OOTP files I click on the file folder icon on the task bar and that brings up libraries, then I click on documents, then click on OOTP and all my files can be found there, hope this helps

Yeah, that's how I found mine too. For some reason I don't have an icon on the desktop so my next task is to see if I can move the icon from that folder to the desktop.
