New to the Game -- Q on How to Customize

I would like to be able to use the existing MLB universe but be able to assign players to teams (no draft, and only tweaking the 2011 rosters) and dictate the terms of player contracts (no negotiations).

i.e., How can I put Pujols on the Angels and give him a 10 year $254M contract?

All advice and help much obliged.

Go into commish mode, go to Pujols profile page and click the editor button and you can change anything you want on there.
