Really looking forward to joining this league tonight, it looks like a fun time. Where can I get the list of available teams to look at while at work?

Looking for some fictional league fans who like to get involved and write about our teams and players. Several EBA teams open, and that's the ticket into the MBBA, which looks to have an opening or two this offseason.

re

Friendly little bump reminder to people looking for a league. We still have EBA openings which is the gateway to the MBWBA teams. We are about to start the offseason. Perfect time to jump in.

2003 Season Over, Open Teams

MBBA Opening:

Des Moines Kernels

The Kernels come off an injury ravaged season hjaving just barely eked out a Frick League Midwest title at 83-79 (1 game over the New Orleans Crawdads). They lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Seattle Storm (Frick Pacific Champs).

Shortstop Rafael Rodriguez is a MBBA legend, and a sure-fire future Hall of Famer. 28 year old right fielder Niguel Halime had an injury plagued 2003 but is one of the top power hitters in the league. The rotation has aged considerably, and that's where a new GM can make some immediate improvements. You'll have one great young arm at the top of the rotation in Charlie Schaffer as well as a All-Star closer in Chris Anderson.

The MBBA's Atlantic City Gamblers are now open!

This is a rebuilding type team, dead last in their division. If you want a rebuilding challenge, this is a great one to take on.

We do require some writing in our league, minimum participation requirements, but nothing overbearing. Rewards for Participation Points abound!!!

Come join the fun, PM me here if you're interested.

The Calgary Marauders are now also open.

A veteran powerhouse, they've started to slip over the last couple of years with inactive GM's. An active GM could turn this club around in quick order.

Come and check us out!

The Atlantic City Gamblers are also still available.

The Atlantic City Gamblers are taken! One of our European Baseball Alliance GM's stepped up to the big leagues.

The Calgary Marauders are still open in the MBBA (major league), and there are five teams open in the European Baseball Alliance (independent league, which also can serve as a feeder to the MBBA for new GM's).

The Calgary Marauders may be struggling right now, but the future is looking mighty bright after a draft in which they had eight of the first eighty picks. "Inactive General Managers led to a lot of the long time Marauders leaving via free agency," Commissioner Matt Rectenwald explained. "While that was unfortunate for the Marauders now, that led to a flurry of compensatory picks, a nice haul for their future prospects."

SP Gary Harris (1st round, 13th overall pick)
Harris, 22, is a four year starting pitcher from college. He won the Outstanding Pitcher Award from the CCAS in both 2003 and 2004! Harris somehow was overlooked by several teams and Calgary was glad to take him. "Great stuff, great control, and three PLUS pitches," Rectenwald said.

SP Steve "No Hands" Thomas (1st round Supplemental, 30th overall)
A rawer, younger, left-handed version of Harris! "If Thomas can develop, Calgary has as nice a pair of young pitching prospects as anyone in the MBBA," Rectenwald said.

OF Alfred "Joyce" Brouthers (1st round Supplemental, 37th overall)
Talented hitter with speed, needs to work on his plate discipline to be an impactful regular in the future. An injury plagued high school senior season knocked him out of the first round.

LF Juan Moran (1st Round Supplemental, 38th overall)
Raw power and plus outfield defense, Moran will need to become more consistent in his hitting approach.

1B Terry Cochran (1st Round Supplemental, 39th overall)
Very advanced for a high school draftee, could be an excellent hitter and an anchor at first base. Great intangibles. Could be a quick mover.

LF Pat Curry (1st Round Supplemental, 40th overall)
Advanced college player. 2001 CCAS Outstanding Hitter Award along with a 2001 Glove Wizard Award in LF. Could be starting for the Marauders as soon as 2006.

SP Shane Carr (2nd Roiund, 54th overall pick)
Carr, 18, was the 2001 HSAS Outstanding Pitcher. He has multiple pitches and projects well. His low stamina will decide whether or not he becomes a starter, or a very interesting relief conversion candidate.

SP Bubba Barnes (3rd Round, 80th overall pick)
Barnes, 18, is a raw high school righty who could emerge as a sleeper candidate with the right development. The club projects great control from him down the road.

Post-draft, the Marauders now have the 9th rated system in the MBBA (according to Baseball America).

Calgary has been filled, however, there are still several European teams open.....if you want to get your feet wet with us and learn the league in a low pressure situation, the EBA is perfect for that. Ideal situation for a first time online leaguer!
