Nevermind, Google Chrome did the trick, stupid Internet Explorer.

AAA Sean Ratliff might not play baseball again, and if he does, he's got massive power potential, more then what he's got now
A+ Wilmer Flores is a 'shortstop' or 3b, not RF
A+ Chase Greene, ZeErika McQueen should not be here
A+ Richard Lucas is a 3b, not 2b as listed
A+ Matt Harvey throws 94-96, not 92-94, and his curve/slider have been described as plus pitches/plus potential, his change is fringe/average
A+ Jeurys Familia's changeup should have more potential then it does, also his control took a giant leap in 2011 IRL
A+ Zack Wheeler throws 95-97 touching 98-99
A Albert Cordero is a C, not a RF, and he's got a tremendous throwing arm.
Fix them how you see them--We all see our favorite team's prospects with rose colored glasses. Cubby, I think, should be totally deaf to requests like this...

I'm more than willing to listen on prospects - but the one caveat is that I haven't even edited any of those guys in the first place yet, so a bit of a moot point until I get to them first.

Cubby, I do think you need to increase the budgets by 20 or 30 million per club, because the budgets look like they are only accounting for player payroll (and not for coaches, scouting, development, etc.) (The Twins for instance have a 83 million player payroll and have no money for FAs, yet in reality will have a 100 million payroll...)

For those that want international scouting: turn on create and maintain hidden players option in the Player And Picture Options tab.

Yeah, I think the problem is because I adjusted team payrolls to be current payrolls... which of course leaves them 0 room for offseason FAs. I'm thinking I may need to just set payrolls to be equal to end of season 2011 levels. Unless anyone knows of any huge changes (Miami would be one, Anaheim another... any others?)

I would agree. In game, the Brewers seem to be maxed out around $76 million with no ability to add FA. Last year (and this year, for that matter) their payroll was pretty close to $95 million, before scouting, coaches and development.

If you see any other issues, let me know. Going to run home tonight and try to put out a new file late this evening!

One thing about the Pirates

Just getting into this, thanks again....

Neil Walker is a 2B, not a 3B and he was actually pretty good, right now his fielding is quite low

I do notice that after the 2012 season the Budgets reset to the original pre-2012 levels even after I adjusted them all. I wonder if there's something in the general finacial configuration that's askew. I'll play around with the financial options.

Maybe a better work around is to increase the merchandising and TV contracts to a total of 20 mil or so....

Try redownloading, and make sure your OOTP 12 has the latest patch.

Two player i think is very wrong

Taijuan Walker 113 SO in 96.2 IP and 2.89 ERA with Cliton Class A
James Paxton 51 SO in 39IP and 1.85ERA in Double AA (Spilt between High Desert and Jackson)

Or maybe you didn’t finish all the minors league right cubby??

First of all, thanks for doing this Cubby.

I simulated a few years in advance, to the end of the 2014 season, to see how things turned out. For the most part it's pretty good, except for two things.

1) Prospects end up moving up over veterans way to quick. The veterans all seem to hit a wall and completely fall off.

For example in the sim, a quick look at a few of the Yankees, who will in real life fall off over the next 4 season. A-Rod hit 25 home runs in 2012, and then only played 5 games in 2013, and 15 in 2014, basically sitting on the Yankees bench because he was guaranteed a starting spot, couldn't be demoted, no one would trade for him, and they wouldn't cut $20 mil a year for the next 4 years. And his fielding declined so drastically he no longer had a 3B rating. Meanwhile, Derek Jeter had a somewhat similar decline, playing only 90 games in 2012 without an injury and then 8 in 2013 and 6 in 2014, retiring after the season with a 2 rating at 1B and a 6 rating at LF. Mariano Rivera worked out a bit better, finishing '12 with 44 saves, but he didn't retire and instead dropped to the point where he was entirely ineffective and replaced at closer before retiring following the '14 season.

Even Albert Pujols dropped to a .250 hitter by 2013.

Now this may be nothing you have anything to do with, I'm not sure if it's the game engine, I honestly don't have much experience with OOTP 12 yet, and am just now looking to play it after finishing out a few games in OOTP 11 and saving money for awhile to buy the new game.

2) More importantly, from your end, there seems to be a big problem with the financials. Teams aren't realistically signing free agents. It may have something to do with the rosters being full to start free agency, not sure. But for whatever reason, the trend continues as the sim goes on. For example, BJ Upton, at 28, became a free agent after the 2012 season. He didn't sign with a team and sat out the '13 and '14 seasons, and is now 30 and still a free agent, asking for only $1.5 mil per year. Curtis Granderson became a FA after the '13 season and missed the '14 season. J.D. Drew never retired, but was never signed after '11, along with many other guys like Nick Swisher, Andre Ethier, Jimmy Rollins, Aaron Hill, Shane Victorino, David DeJesus, Shaun Marcum, Daisuke, Brandon Morrow, Mike Pelfrey, Paul Maholm, etc, etc who became free agents and were never signed.

You think anything can be done to help fix that?

Hope this is helpful/insightful.

The free agent thing is more of a game issue than Cubby's roster set. There is no real semblance of "market value", it's more like "value based on ratings".

One thing I've discovered is there's usually a fix for any situation.

I haven't touched much regarding financials so far, and hadn't touched any sort of development modifiers, so I'm sure those are both fixable things. I'll take a look.

I think I should have the financials resetting problem fixed; you have to change the actual numbers behind the scenes rather than just the budget, so I assigned a random minor leaguer a 10-50M contract (based on real life budget space), reset financials to current budgets, and then made his contract back into a minor league deal. That gives each team flexibility.

psuedo - if you find anything else regarding budgets, let me know...

Keep any other problems you see coming guys! Would like to be able to release a totally functional v1 release this weekend.

I'm not sure if its my files that are named incorrectly or something, but when I load your latest game, the players doesn't have real jersys, but they do have the correct hats. Also there is a fictional logo for MLB. Could just be me idk.

And also the reason the previous poster said A-Rod and Jeter became backups after a couple years is because the ZIPs ratings pretty much hate the Yankees players. Im not saying they are unreasonable, but they are harsh - and combine that with the fact that the overall ratings for 35+ year old players in OOTP crash during the first year making the less than stellar projected stats even worse for those players.

I simmed a year and both Jeter and A-Rod lost their ability to play the field. A-Rod had to become a DH and Jeter was rated a 1/20 at 2B, 3B, and RF.

I'll play around with the development modifiers and see if it helps, they are a bit too harsh for my liking at default.
