MLB database with less minor league teams?

I wanted to play a MLB career using less minor league teams, specifically without the rookie and full single A teams.

I tried using a standard major league game and deleting these but that resulted in a bunch of free agents, many 4-5 star who I would like to be in the minor league system of their major teams.

I then tried a custom league but then all of the players are randomized.

Is there a different way I should be setting this up or is there any database that I can download that has the real MLB rosters but with less minor league teams?

thanks.

What i would do for the MLB 2011 quickstart is move the players off of the level i want to delete top the next highest, you should be able to use mass select in commish mode. then delete the level and the teams will choose who they want to release.

I had the same situation - too many minor leagues - so I deleted most of the Class A and Rookie leagues. That resulted in nearly 3400 free agents. I ran the sim for 1 day, about 35 free agents were picked up, and then I mass deleted the remaining ones.

OK, thanks. I've gone into commissioner mode and went to each team and moved 2+ star players to other minor league teams, then deleted all remaining players on each rookie and short single A team; then went into league and deleted these team.
