Which Team Gives You A Headache?

It seems no matter my league that the team that trails me in the standings
(when I'm in 1st) gives me problems. I am just beyond the ASG in my EBL vs MLB league and Colortown trails my Capitals by 3 games yet owns me 13-8. My last series vs them I scored a total of 3 runs and lost 2 of 3 getting shutout on 4 hits the 3rd game. My top 3 SP rank 1,2,3 in Wins, ERA, IP & 2,3,4 in K beyond the ace of the Parrots. My best 3 hitters are 1,2,3 in HR & RBI and I am 2nd in AVG. Colortown's 2B ranks 3rd in AVG. Defensively they are slightly better as far as fld % and there C is the best in the AL at TO %.
I have 42 games left, 9 games left vs Colortown (3 in the 2nd to last series) i am not confident that I will win the AL.

So which team real or fictional gives your team fits?

I just had a similar experience. My Brooklyn Dodgers were enjoying a 7 to 8 game lead over the Giants for most of the season. Then, in September that lead was squandered and eventually the Giants went to the playoffs, not the Dodgers. It's frustrating, but it happens.

In my Reds Dynasty..... it was the Cardinals. Even in 2021 long after Pujols, and the fact that the Cards are barely a .400 team, they take 2 of 3 every time......

BTW they replaced Pujols with Prince Fielder...

The Nationals, of all teams, are and have been a thorn in my side for going on 15 years now.

In a fictional league, there are really only 4 teams that give me consistent trouble.

The other four teams in my division.

For me no matter what league I am in if I am in first place it is always the team right behind me in second.

In 1908 I started the season 4-0 against the Red Sox. Since then Red Sox have gone 55-23. Boston had a 19-8 record in May.

I have made up some room going 17-1 in the eighteen games, including a 14 game winning streak.

Mine is an MLB redraft league.. but wouldn't you know it, the Reds always battle me for a playoff spot.

In 2016, I decided to GM the AL Central expansion team, the Northern Virginia Cavalry. I made some smart moves and did a lot of poaching in the international league that I made and I made the playoffs... to be knocked out by the other expansion team the Iowa Explorers. Apparently they know how to poach too
