Help! Lineup question

I have always used 7 day lineups but am going to try normal lineups. For example, If I set my backup catcher to play every 5th game when I am facing a RHP lineup and every 3rd vs LHP, will those settings take effect only when they play that specific throwing (lefty or righty) pitcher? Will he start every 5th day vs only RHP we face and every 3rd against every lefty we face? Or will that every 5th day setting (vs rhp) supercede the every 3rd vs lhp

every 5th game where a RHP is pitching your back up will catch. Same goes for every 3rd game vs LHP pitcher.
So if SUN RHP starter
Mon RHP starter
TUE RHP starter
WED LHP starter
Thu LHP starter
Fri RHP starter
SAT LHP backup
SUN RHP backup
