Hello all ..The game is rockin
Some questions about fictional leagues :
1) Upon creating a fictional league can i set rivalries between teams-and the intensity of these rivalries ?

2) Is there way to edit financials for each team..(I would like to alter the fan base and the financial measure of a team from Huge to Above Average lets say and let the AI calculate the exact budget etc..)Can i do that ?

3)Can i insert real players (for example all the MLB 2011 players into a fictional league)

4) If i create fictional league in the advanced mode which year setting would you recommend and what the difference if i do not set a year...(And why the pitcher stamina is set to low--what will be the difference if i put it to normal ..?)

Sorry for all these questions but OOTP12 is the first version i buy..

PS. Upon creating fictional league and pulling a draft the teams financials are down to zero-also the fan base...Does this change automatically when draft is completed ?

Only in your imagination! But seriously, many of us write our own in-game news stories that are published to the front page of BNN. You can use this feature to create any scenario you want, including stuff like Pedro confessing the Yankees are "his daddy". You can also write recaps for any and all games(a feature I take personal credit for!! ) and include lot's of rivalry blah' blah'. Especially if you take this stuff to an online league, it makes for some fun discussion and an exciting atmosphere on the league forums.

Yes. You can edit everything as long as you are in commish mode. If you are not, simply create a new manager and put him in "commish mode". Then, on the individual team pages, you should see the button "Edit Financials". It may take a bit of looking, but it is there.

Yes. You can import individual players one by one from anytime in history. You just need the Lahman Database player ID. Babe Ruth is "ruthba01". The ID consists of:

Last name: ruth
First 2 letters of first name: ba
In case there were more than one player to match those(i.e. Bailey Ruth): 01, 02, 03 etc. Babe Ruth is "01" since he would probably be the earliest to match "ruthba", thus his ID is "ruthba01".

Now, if you want the entire 2011 set of player but with your own fictional leagues and teams, that is easy. Just start a MLB 2011 game, delete all teams and then create your own teams, in the league setup pages.

The year setting that you choose for that gives you the most accurate simulation of that season's roster usage. For example, pre-1970's there were never pitching specialists such as a setup man and closer on each team. If you choose 1950, for example, OOTP's A.I. will manage a team's pitching staff very similarly to the way managers did in 1950, such as leaving their starters out there much longer, resulting in more complete games in the league than we see nowadays.

Yes. These will set themselves as soon as you finish your inaugural draft.
