Can a guy with a signed contract still be arbitration eligble?
For instance, someone with less than 6 years of major league service, but who nevertheless already signed a three-year extension six months ago. The player screen says Arbitration-yes, but possible free agent after season. His player screen also says Signed through 2013. So what gives?

Just because he has 3 years of Arb left does not mean he will spend the next 3 years at the ML level. He may also be a possible Super 2 guy. The game does not always assume a player will remain at the ML level, check his Option years. You may be able to option him down to AAA this year, leave him there until Sept. and then call him up. This will probably push his Free Agency year back another season. So you could keep this contract and have one more Arb. session to go. In RL a player would probably flip his lid, if talented enough for anyone to listen, but Video Game personalities are a little different.
