Please Help, Cant Load Game!

Ive posted here before but ill try and be more clear on my issue..

Ive been having this issue since I first got the game. If I can recall I might have messed things up by doing a system restore after I installed the game for another pc issue. Unfortunately I cant go back and undo the restore it wont go back to that date...

Its a very strange problem. It seems that if I play the game for a bit then close it and re-open the game its ok, the problem doesnt start till I shut down the pc and reload it it gets to about 50% then says cant load player names or something like that... also Ive gotten messages saying the file is corrupted or created with a previous version of OOTP which I never had... Ive tried backing up the files but when I try to load the backup by clicking on restore backup I get the same errors.

Does anyone have any tricks to try to work around this issue.... ive tried several like doing the backups.. even trying to save and load the game as a quick start instead didnt work... it always saves the games in the incident folder when I get the errors but I cant load those either... just crazy, this is getting to be really frustrating...

Any ideas or tricks I can try to fix this? I dont mind having to do extra things like renaming or moving files around if needed...ive already uploaded my files to the tech support help 2 days ago but havent heard a peep from them yet

Thanks

Tom

Yep, restore did it. It removed current ootp info in the documents section as well as most likely the Registry. As bluenoser said...you've got to do a complete uninstall/reinstall as that's your only option at this point. Normally you don't need to release your license first, but in this case I would do it...or at the very least, save the key.cfg file in the user\documents section. Then make sure everything ootp related is deleted except any mods you may have as it's ok to keep them (ballparks, photos, logos, etc).
One more thing, after you delete everything using add\remove programs and manually the rest of the stuff, shutdown and restart the computer then do the install with the latest full install version.
