New OOTP 12 Update, version 12.5.38 available.

Hey guys,

Andreas was doing some maintenance recently, so we decided to release yet another tiny update for OOTP 12, this time it's version 12.5.38.

It fixes the following compared to version 12.5.36:
- Improved the database info page
- Added direct mySQL data dump support on the Mac
- Fixed a few minor cosmetic bugs
- Fixed rare OOTP 11 league importing crash

Here is the complete changelist compared to version 12.4.27:
- Added an "Offseason Summary" to the Offseason Center which lists players added/lost during the offseason for each team, along with WAR and team leaderboard for WAR added.
- Added a "GM Transactions History" section to the Manager History screen. It lists all major transactions made for the teams you were in charge of. This only applies for transactions happening after using this patch.
- Added a "Preseason Predictions Report", listing projected standings and a top 10 hitters & pitchers list for each sub-league. It gets generated on the first day of Spring Training and is available from both the league menu or the Spring Training screen. For leagues without Spring Training it is available in the league reports screen on Opening Day.
- Added functions to add states and edit state names in the nations editor
- Decreased effect on fan interest of players signing/leaving
- Tweaked formula that determines FA compensation status to make the number of Type A & B FA's more realistic
- Added "FA type" as a possible column to sortable player lists. For this to show up, the user has to delete his \tables folder inside the OOTP 12 user data folder (i.e. My Documents\ OOTP Developments\OOTP 12\)
- First year player draftees no longer change their bonus demand after being drafted unless they are drafted far higher than expected.
- Improved roster AI
- Added the option to disable delayed injury diagnosis
- OOTP will load and display news from the OOTP Developments server on startup (can be disabled in preferences dialog)
- OOTP 12 is now tracking how you play the game, i.e. which screens you visit most frequently (disabled by default, please enable it because it will help us to improve OOTP). The data tracked is 100% anonymous.
- Fixed several bugs and minor issues

Update Information:
To update, you can either download the full game and simply install it over your existing OOTP 12 installation (no need for uninstallation or unlicense), or download and install the patch (PC only). Here are the download links:

No need to release the license before installation. No need to uninstall the current version. Just install on top of your current OOTP 12 installation and it will automatically update all the new files.

Unbelievable support!

The funny thing, I had yet to have a freeze on OOTP12 until I downloaded and installed the last patch. I left my game open for about 5 hours, got watching football, doing some fantasy football and hockey stuff and finally went to go play and it froze.

Happy to report that is still the one and only crash, and it didn't do the lose a day of rest thing for the pitchers that usually happens after a crash. My guess is that it's because I didn't play a game.

That's really a long story and it makes not much sense to tell it. Just minor changes made to the code to make it more stable.

Still not available from the mac app store. These delays are holding online leagues up. Is anything being done to improve the patch delays at mac app store?

Well, or just purchase the game via OOTP's web store. We like the Apple App Store, but of course the updates are available a few days earlier through our own web site than through others...

We could of course hold back the release of the updated version on our own site until the updates are available in the App Store. But I'm sure that the majority of our customers would not like that... I suggest that the members of online leagues find a consent before they install their updates.

in commissioner mode. go to the free agents screen, and press the "create fictional player" button. then go to "edit player" on the players card.

Anyone else have a problem with players (listed in game) being identified incorrectly by the AI. For example, I am playing the 2011 Brewers and had several minor league guys come off the DL. The message that popped up on the managers screen identified the right player with the wrong name. It's happened at least half a dozen times. Hasn't affected game play at all, just curious to see if anyone else has seen this. Thanks. Amazing game by the way...for a baseball junkie this is great!

If you have more than one guy coming off the DL at the same time but they are in different levels in the minors, I believe the highest-level player's name is in the message, but the game defaults to the lowest-level player/team automatically to move him. The other guy should still be there. Go to your Major-league team's page, click on transactions, then overview and make sure the DL is in one of the spaces. You'll see everyone who's ready to come off.
