Inconsistent team play?

I am the 2011 Yankees and my record for the 2010 season was 99-60 or something around there
Now in 2012 my record was 70-92 and my team had the exact same roster except for better pitching. What could have happened?

Aging effects, injuries (if enabled), or several flukishly poor seasons, just off the top of my head.

Probably some regression to the mean involved after a 99-60 season. Will it let you go back and see your "luck" or whatever the standings screen calls it? The +/- based on run differential.
