Training players ..
As I said in an earlier post, I play(ed) a lot of Football Manager, very similar to OOTP12 in that you manage a soccer team through the seasons. One of the best things about Football Manager is that you can set individual training programs for your players. You can assign a player who can't kick a ball to a coach and training program where he gets better and, with a bit of luck, you can really see the improvements through the seasons
Now, I've got something of a similar problem with my Orioles. We're 4-6 at the moment, winning games mainly on the strength of my first three batters and some inspired pitching (I've found that Koji Uehara makes for a great starting pitcher) but once you get further down the lineup things go from bad to worse. I've just come out of a 3-game losing streak against the Yankees where (and I kid you not) none of the batters from position 4 downwards managed to even get a hit.
To put it bluntly, they couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo.
I've looked, but I can't find anywhere where I can assign players to coaching programmes to get their batting on. Short of sending to the Minors (though I'm not sure what that'll achieve) how do I improve these players?
