1st Time Commish....have an issue on day 1 :)

Hello...I am a new commissioner of a league..I simmed the first day and went through the process of uploading new files

Those files are set up in my lgfile folder and when i log into my file manager in cpanel, i see the lgfile folder updated with a new zip folder from when I uploaded those files.

My GMs all have the original league file...have downloaded and exported and i successfully imported those files before i simmed. When they try to update the new file...they get a no new file found.

I must be missing a step. I have read fidel's how to commish documents on allsim...but i must be missing something significant for them not to see a new file.

Are you unzipping the file after upload?

Running into the exact same problem.

I have a default.tar.gz file in the folder but no owner sees an updated file.

Probably my own idiocy.

I've tried uploading from both the commissioner menu and the league online menu. I'll let you know if I stumble upon something.

I wonder if there is some sort or checklist that one can refer to when doing this. I assume that a lot of whats on Fidel's site carries over information wise....i just wonder what version of OOTP those instructions were written for.

Used the YouTube videos for helping setup. Able to run the tests fine.

No issue with the downloading the team exports just with the teams importing the league export.

Going to scan through the video and some online searches to see if I can find where the issue is. The "manual" doesn't really help much.

ur getting the no updated league file found correct ?

this is due to ootp new security

the file that has the ftp setting for ur league is no longer included in the league file

so u have to upload it to ur server for them to dl and put into their settings folder.

then

they have to login to there team then goto the ootp tab up top
then they will see online league setting they should click on that
then clcik on import accounts file (navagate to the settings folder and select the accountsdata_gm.dat file and hit ok) then click the chk accounts file once done click save and close.
and ur all set u can check for league file and export

. ok

now

ok once thats confirmed correctly done the commish needs to chk his online league setting

note the source path is the last part of the league file url do not add league file name at the end

source path on server /bbb/
league file name : league name (just the league name will create .tar.gz)
league file url http://xxxx/bbb/

Would the people in the league have to do this everytime or is this a one time thing? If everytime, i just have to explain to them that importing is a 2 part process as opposed to the 1 part process it used to be in 11 (which is fine...just have to tell them if that is the case

The last part confuses me a little bit.

I took a screenshot of my league settings page....If i change the "League File Download Options" from Lgfile to BBB and then changed the League file name from Default to Fanatic Baseball and the League File Url to "http"//fanaticbaseball.com/game/bbb/", wont the people trying to download the file have a problem getting it as well because they already have the league file provided to them?

fixed. and for others

league file upload and league file download should be exact except for the extra fild on the league filke download it should be the patch u type in to ur browser to get to the folder the contains the actual league file

and make sure u put the league file name in both places in the upload league and down load part to without the name being correct the game will not fine the league file in that path that the game is looking in

example ur league name is thisismyleague

u put league file url . http://mywebsite/game/lgfile/

u have to put for league file name in the upload and download sections

thisismyleague

so the game will look for this

http://mywebsite/game/lgfile/thisismyleague.tar.gz

or for ftp

/lgfile/thisismyleague.tar.gz

as the ftp account has u already pointed to the part before the /lgfile

I must thank "soadeathdealer" so much. He was incredibly helpful in getting me back to the basics. He is a great asset to the board. Very knowledgeable about Statslab and the inner workings of online leagues!

Got it working, well the first owner to reply gave it a thumbs up so I am hoping...

It was one small change in the path. Had to remove the /game/ which started the path for the game file import setting. Though I believe the youtube video said to include it (but I could easily be wrong).

Ended up being a simple sulution. No need to ask the owners to make any changes on their end.
