Post Import Team Errors

I have a fictitious 2 league, 8 team league that I converted from OOTP3. I would like to set up a 2 league, 24 team structure and swap these eight teams into the slots for teams 1-8.

After a board search, I see that the link for the league structure tutorial is not updated. I have tried paring the total roster for team 7 down to 78 players. I still get the "data error or file not found" when I paste the .exp file into the 24 team league and try to import for team 7.

Do I continue to release players? What to try next?

Thanks,
GP

I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to do. You can't export and import "whole teams" in OOTP, the team already has to be a part of the league. You can edit the current league structure and make additional teams in the league that those teams are already in.

Didn't realize the import/export option was for multiplayer only. Thanks. Should have gone a little deeper in the manual.

Was my explanation confusing? I have an 8 team league and I wanted to make those teams part of a larger league, either through expansion or merging or whatever means were possible.

Sounds like I should make teams 1-8 in the new league human controlled, pass on thier first 20-30 draft choices, then add free agents and have the old team sign them in the new league.

I'm probably to attached to the players in this old league, but thats what fictitious leagues in OOTP are all about.

Thanks again,
GP
