Congratulations, you deserve it. Amazing turn of events for you guys.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to stick a rusty needle in my eye so I can temporarily forget what just happened.

Congratulations, Rays and the Rays fans. You totally deserve this.
With all the stupid misplays all over the field for the past month, Red Sox never deserved to play in October.

I am very sad, but the justice done by the baseball god.

Well done to the Rays and hope they can go all the way.

Hard to believe that we were one strike from winning and Rays were one strike from losing in the 9ths...

Congrads to the Rays and their fans. The last 3 games was the first time I've ever rooted against the Yankees

This is from Nate Silver of the NY Times and really puts into perspective how truly magnificent and improbable last night's events were:

"The following is not mathematically rigorous, since the events of yesterday evening were contingent upon one another in various ways. But just for fun, let’s put all of them together in sequence:

• The Red Sox had just a 0.3 percent chance of failing to make the playoffs on Sept. 3.

• The Rays had just a 0.3 percent chance of coming back after trailing 7-0 with two innings to play.

• The Red Sox had only about a 2 percent chance of losing their game against Baltimore, when the Orioles were down to their last strike.

• The Rays had about a 2 percent chance of winning in the bottom of the 9th, with Johnson also down to his last strike.

Multiply those four probabilities together, and you get a combined probability of about one chance in 278 million of all these events coming together in quite this way."

Also...the Yankees had not lost a game in which they led by 7 or more runs in the 8th inning since 1953!

Man... the Ray's really should have played the lottery last night... if they had won the Mega Millions they would have been able to afford a big market salary for their players for one year...

Not really 278,000,000 - 1 though because the second and fourth items can't be classed as separate - for the fourth to happen the second automatically has to happen.

Bold move starting Matt Moore tonight, let's hope it pays off. I don't support any MLB team, but the Rays are quickly earning my support.

Yes Typical Joe Maddon. Of the available options for Game 1 (Moore, Niemann, and Davis) Moore has the best arm, and having never faced the Rangers he could have a huge advantage. Yes he is a rookie, and that is a lot of pressure for a kid, but if not for all the rookies contributing down the stretch (especially in the pen) this team wouldn't be here. Maddon has many gifts, but his greatest of all may be his ability to get the best out of his players and instill confidence in them.

Your signature has given me even more motivation to root for the Rays. I just love the way the owner, president, general manager, and manager go about their business. They don't sit there and mope and bitch about the unfairness of life in the AL East (see Ricciardi, J.P.). They simply set about making the best damn slingshot they can find and finding the best projectiles they can find to slay the beasts of the East. It is awesome and inspiring...And they're going to continue to make life very difficult for my Jays in the coming years. Oh well, anyone but the Yankees and Red Sox is OK by me.

Needless to say I am pretty happy with last nights result. I hope the Rays can ride the momentum and win this.

Shop has been hitting pretty good lately, but not like this, I was pretty stoked to see him go deep like that twice. Johnny Damon had a less impressive night, but for his age, he runs his ass off to first even if he knows they are going to make the play. All heart that guy is, and I really, really, hope that they decide to offer him another year.
What more is there to say about Matt Moore? He looked good, and though I am sure his innards were rolling around inside, he really was a cool cat on the mound.

My signature? It's there to make people think about what they have, and not to take any minute for granted, with their loved ones. Nothing is "more important" than the time you have with the people around you. Also, when I see it myself in my posts, it helps me.
