SPs with low stamina

In my fifth follow-up season after starting in 1976, I'm still unsure about some aspects of pitchers' ratings. I have an excellent (80-80) starting pitcher with stamina of 7, and he needs to be carefully watched by the fourth inning.

I absolutely cannot trust the AI's quickplay when he starts. He loses his mojo faster than the Hindenburg.

So, my question is, why is he rated a SP when he doesn't have a starter's stamina? Surely having three pitches is not enough, or is it? I have seen MRs with (if I recall correctly) three pitches and stamina ratings of 18 out of 20 whose anticipated role is in the bullpen.

what scale is it on? The standard is 1-20, in which case his stamina is below average.

Yes, 7 out of 20

Yes, his stamina rating was 7 on a scale of 0-20.

I am *not* complaining about the game, just asking.

4th inning does seem a -bit- extreme, but then again, it depends on the pitch count more than the inning. If he's thrown 80-90 pitches after 4 innings, that'll do it. Next time he pitches, check the pitch count.

Then again, scouting reports aren't always 100% accurate, he might just not be as good as he appears to be.

Pitching puzzle

Oh, he's good, all right: all-star, lowest ERA on my team, low WHIP, SP#1 when the AI arranges the rotation. He just doesn't last long.

I'm tempted to change his position to MR, but it has been interesting to watch his starts. I don't recall his lasting six innings in any of his three seasons, but I wasn't keeping close watch in the beginning.

One reason I am not asking developers about this, just players, is that I like the occasional upset of expectations, so long as it is within range of my credulity. Much of the fun of games seems to me making observations and drawing conclusions, just like real life.

The only thing that I can think of is more pure speculation than anything. My guess would be since iOOTP11 is ported from the PC version of OOTP11 there may be some code lingering regarding how a scout has scouted your player.

Take a screen capture from season's end and another one when the calendar year rolls over. Post them here - if you want.
