Has anyone developed a personality rating to decide what free agents can sign where?
Based on the personality ratings, has anyone decided what level of personality in each setting can determine where that player would be willing to sign?

Basically, I'm tired of being able to sign anyone I want whenever I play by myself. So based on the personality ratings, I would like to have a system that helps decide what players would be willing to sign with my team.
Has anyone developed anything like this yet? Something like. Desire for winner has to be at least a High and my team has to have a winning percentage over X And in order to sign the guy so many of the ratings have to match. Anything like that? |

Pujols (Cardinals, Astros, Marlins, Angels, Dodgers, Brewers) It doesn't mean he won't sign with another team, but that it either would take more money or more years, and if he doesn't have a high level of greed, and has a high level of loyalty, than it affects where he will sign. |

I would think every player should have some level of 'fit' with each team, and that should raise and lower that players desire and interest in playing with a specific team.
Some players will want to play with a team because it's closer to home. And it should be easier to sign AAAA type players than say super stars. I'm just wondering if anyone has created an app for this to make single player mode much more challenging. |

I don't see how someone would be able to create this, but there are many unique programs out there for OOTP. |

I remember in OOTP 6 there used to be a message when a player didn't think you were good enough saying something like, "Sorry, I need to play for a winner." I remember it, because it pissed me off royally when I saw it.
Did that get dropped somewhere along the line. In the HTML page for each player there is a Desire to play for winner rating displayed even though it doesn't show up anywhere else. |

a player should have a favorite team/ person and have a preference to them as well as a home team advantage. Then personality like greed and a winner should take effect.

I'm trying to make it more difficult to sign players when I solo play, it's too easy to destroy the competition.
In Mogul, the players of the game created an app to make it more challenging and it would limit what players you could sign based on the compatibility those players had with your team. I would love to see something like a players top 5-10 teams and if you aren't in that list, you either have to pay more or do something in order to get him. I mean, if college football games can do it, couldn't OOTP? |

I think having favoured and disliked teams/personnel would add a new dimension, especially when it came to team chemistry if two players don't like each other.
I guess favoured/disliked teams could either be random, based on fan base size at time of "birth" or even location of birth. |

Most times you will either overpay by a mile on your 3rd attempt to be (almost) sure or you will try to time your offers so they fall near the end of the signing period, but by then he may be signed already because you haven't moved fast enough. Artificial, yes, but it'll give you the effect you're after, or close. Similarly I'm finding trading to be very challenging simply by limiting myself to the results of the Shop Player Around command (with minor leaguers thrown in here and there). Every trade starts with me giving someone up, and I can only do 3 tries a day - gets rid of unsatisfactory trades against AI almost completely. |

I remember that was a negotiator app that Mizerak created. That thing was awesome. It made Mogul playable for a extra year. That would be perfect, any chance we could get him to jump ship?

Although I don't know anything about programming, my guess is that it could be just like the fan interest bar in the front office menu. And players with a higher desire for a winning team would be more likely to not play for consistently bad teams. And shelling out the most money for contracts would always help if the player was greedy.
