PCL/MLB Historical
**This is an interest gauging thread**
With the PCL database finally finished (thanks to ctorg and Spritze for helping me with that), it is now possible to either run the PCL along or cohabitate it with MLB historically. This thread is to gauge the interest in a PCL/MLB online league likely set to begin in 1919 (first year the PCL had 8 clubs). The PCL would be run alongside the MLB. Each league would have their own set of new players each season (likely to come in as free agents instead of a draft). MLB would have its World Series while the PCL likely would merely crown its champ from the regular season standings. MLB would play its normal length schedule while the PCL would play a 196 game schedule to closely replicate its long seasons of its history (my schedules for the PCL are in the Mods area). So, basically, this would be a 1919 MLB historical league with the 8 team PCL running in the same universe, but totally separate. No free agent intermingling or rookie class mixing. Ideally, in the late 50s, the leagues would 'merge' and begin using the standard db from that point on. Name your interest here, but no team claiming at this point. I am simply trying to ascertain the level of interest. I look for staunch historical fans and/or big time PCL homers instead of just someone wanting a new online league. If you don't really care about historic baseball, this won't be for you. |

I'm a big historical fan but have never been part of historical online league.
I'd be interested in giving it a go though if you get enough interest. |

Only one guy has interest in a 1919 MLB historical with a true PCL running along side it?

Mark, if you'll have me, I would definitely want to be a part of this effort. Thanks for your consideration.

I love the idea, I use PCL in part for my minors for my historical league.
Members of the league would be able to choose from a MLB team or a PCL team? Or would the PCL just act as a feeder? Any chance of having control of a team in each if you don't get enough members for all 24 teams? |

Sure, Dan.
The PCL wouldn't be a 'feeder' league. It would operate as an independent ML level league. Unsure on multiple ownership. |

I am moving forward with this league as I am sure it will be something different and should have no trouble finding owners. There has to be enough historical nuts left around here to fill this up even if the masses are now more into the MLB2K11 type leagues.
News very soon as I get the website up and operational. We'll officially fill teams at that time. |

The 7 gentlemen who posted interest above this post may PM me with your club choice. prior to me filling the rest of the teams. You should give me a list of preferences (2 should be enough).
Keep it to one for now. |
