How do I edit the records.dat file?
What program do I need to edit the records.dat file? I run an 80s league and want to edit some of the league records to reflect the actual MLB numbers as of that season.
I would appericate any help I could get with this question. Thanks |

You would probably need a hex editor & the knowledge of how to use it. You can download & install free hex editors from many download sites.

The records.dat file can be edited via the game's recordbook. This file contains the league and team records. The recordbook can be found inside the Almanac.
If you want an accurate career leaderboad then you only way to do that is to import the players to reflect whenever the actually retired. |

Yeah, just use the in-game editor. It's tedious, but it works.
I think there's room for improvement in this area of the game (record-keeping, that is), but there are other things I'd rather see fixed first.
