Soooooooo Frustrated with this game. Wish I hadn't bought it!!!

Download the add-ons, none of them work. No manual, detailing game setups and functions. Maybe to you all that have been playing it years it is OK, but to some that just started, NOT OK. Maybe if you want new customers, next time have a detailed manual before you put the game out. Very detailed and in-depth game. MAKE A MANUAL TO MATCH! what a waste of 40.00$

It's unfortunate that there is no manual, however the Development team lost their main contributor in this dept. I know that's not an excuse, but it is what it is.

The good news - there is far more helpful information available on these boards (no slight to the manual), and easily accessible, 24/7. Any questions you have, post them in the "new to the game" forum and you'll get plenty of help.

The downloads need to be installed, did you click the install button after downloading?

I know OOTP seems overwhelming at first, but if you give it a fair shake, I promise you'll be more than thrilled with the investment.

Please don't give up.

Yes, the search function on the forums is better than any manual anyway.

What exactly are the steps you are following? Which add-on are you trying to install?

This will help you alot. It's the ootp11 manual, but still good for 12 and a good place to start.

Cubbyfans rosters go into the saved games folder. The instructions are in the same thread you got it from. As that is a third party update the manual couldn't cover that one anyway.

The add-ons, I believe the instructions for them are in the thread on this forum as well. They are more daunting and if the add-on central is an option in-game then this should have some better help in the manual, I will grant you that.

The photo pack should just be unzipped into the data\photos folder.

Google! try it sometime

There is a manual, it's for 11 but most hasn't changed for 12.
There is a thing called google that you can search on before you go off on a rant about how this or that doesn't work.
i just used it to search OOTP file locations and it gave me where to put all of the files.

but hey why do the work yourself when you can just post a rant on the forum and waste someone elses time.

Can we please just try and help the guy instead of jumping on him?

Yes, I know he came across very rudely, but that doesn't mean we have to be rude back.

Let's try and be helpful.

Let's try and avoid having this thread turn into another pi$$ing contest like these threads usually do.

Let's be different, let's be polite, let's not fall into the rant for rant exchange.

I'd much rather see the member get around his problems and become a regular customer rather than chase him away with the same bad attitude.

Thank you.

your right i was wrong.
I apologize
it's out of my system
It's always frustrating to see posts that ask questions that can easily be answered just by searching. I can understand when the answer is not always easy to find or that searching on here can be a chore but when it's easily findable on goggle i just bugs me. i have family like this who rather then attempt to do anything themselves it's just easier to yell for me to fix it.
Again I'm sorry i shouldn't of ranted.
I've always been able to figure things out on my own, i shouldn't assume everyone else can to.

Sorry

I am sorry if I have offended anyone. It was not my intent, I was just so frustrated, I've had it for 2 weeks and I was at my wits end. Again sorry. And trust me I have read on here and still was coming up zilch. I just wanna get the full use out of the game, I have to just remember(little steps) I apprciate the help. I stay silent from now on. Some of you have just got to realize that not all of us are computer savvy. Thanks for all who have helped.

It's a good game. Stick with it. And like others have said, the forum is the best spot to go for answers to questions.

No need to. The game can be hard to manage (I play it since quite a while and I always find new things when I read or ask. Just happen yesterday with the schedule fonction), so don't hesitate to ask as most people here are really helpfull.

Cubbyfan Rosters

Finally figured out how to use those. I had been putting it in the quick start folder like I was suppose to, but I was suppose to change it to a .quick file name. Just things like that, that have me frustrated sometimes. Now it works.

i always forgot it's not always easy for everyone.
quick starts have a .quick
leagues will have .lg on the end that's how i figure out what goes where

Yeah it can be very frustrating playing the game with all the different things you can do, or can't do based on it's limitations. Just remember if you ask politely and are respectfully you get allot more help then if you yell and make broad statements like the sky is falling.
i don't really use the add-on packs, you can get everything without using them, but just ask if you want to know something. There are no stupid questions and someone will answer at some point.
Most games are going away from a detailed manual anyways
so what else would you like to know? btw didn't even know you could change a quick start to a league by changing the extension

no that works as well, i think it checks one first or something.
I did a custom install instead of the default location so i have no OOTP folder in my documents or anywhere else. All logos, photos, ballcaps and so on go into data/whatever folder they go to.

Question,Please

Which league should I run if I do not want players retiring, and I do not want new players entering, but I want to continually play the league. Any help would be great. Thanks.

none. I could be wrong but theres no way not to have players retire & theres no way not to have new players enter the league. If you turn off the draft the game will still create players and place tyhem in the FA market each yr.
