Contract Extensions and Injuries

Has anyone noticed an increased fickleness in players' demands in V5? A player was offered $3,000,000 for 3 years (I don't remember his initial demand). He declined, stating he wanted more money. His second offer was for $3,160,000 for 3 years, the same amount that he was asking for (I remembered to take note this time). His response to the second offer was the "...you had your chance..." response. Now this has happened at least 3 or 4 times so far. Has anyone else noticed players cutting off demands with the second offer, despite getting what they asked for?

Also, I have noticed that there have a couple of injuries that aren't showing up on all of the various reports. Just noticed that with a season-ender. Anyone else noticing any injuries going unreported in V5?

Thanks for any input.

Yes, I have noticed exactly what you talk about.

My star pitcher said ,"Make me an offer"

I offered $8M per for 5 years.

He said ,"I want more money"

I offered $11M per for 5 years.

He said ,"This isn't going anywhere."

Yeah, I've seen that too. However, I've noticed that you can keep going back and pestering them, even after they say that they are fed up and don't want to talk to you. I eventually signed someone for a reasonable price after he swore that he wouldn't sign with me more than twice.

Our main concern is that we had several players sever negotiations after two attempts to sign. In one instance a player asked for $1,100,000 for 3 years. He was offered $1.0m X 3 and declined, stating he wanted more money. When I went back in, he stated that he wanted the same $1,100,000 for 3 years. When I entered that amount, he said that he didn't want to negotiate further.

We haven't attempted to negotiate too many contracts yet, but we've already experienced 5 players refuse to sign contracts in the middle of June. Josh Beckett, one of the league's premier players, is making $10.0m/per in the final year of his contract. When starting to negotiate, Memphis' owner offered him the same deal he was under: $10.m x 3. Beckett declined stating that he wanted more money. The owner came back with $11.0 X 5, which is obviously "more money." After this 2nd offer, Beckett came back with: "Your chance is gone, I will play elsewhere next year." It seems a bit harsh to have so many players league-wide giving the same responses so early in negotiations. With some players not even agreeing to negotiate until later in May, it leaves little time for owners to give these players some "cooling off time" to try and resume talks before the trading deadline.

Based on these players refusing to talk with owners anymore (in mid-June), I test simmed ahead until September 16 and tied to renegotiate with all 5. Each one of them stated a contract price and length (each was slightly higher than they were asking for earlier in the year). As soon as I entered the dollar amount they were asking for, I got a refusal to talk message from them and was not allowed to even enter a year.

I know that other leagues are experiencing the same thing. I was wondering how other leagues are handling this, and what, if anything, is being done on an official level.
