Wished it would have happened in Minnesota or, probably even more preferably...Cleveland.

But still...only 8 players have hit 600 HRs.

Not that the 600th locked it, but Hall of Fame lock.

Be nice to see Thome go in before Bonds

...it won't happen...but it'd be funny

I liked when Thome played for the Southside Hitmen...1st game I went to in 2006 he hit a go ahead 3 run HR. It we nice if we still had him, 1 of KW few bad moves was giving up on Thome 2 yrs too soon. I used to think that he may have used steroids while with Cleveland, these days i am thinking he is just that dang good. Harmon Killebrew type,

That was the quietest approach to 600 I've ever known. Too bad the steroid era overshadowed his accomplishment. Congrads to a guy who did it the right way (at least, I really hope he did).

I watched it live, via MLB.tv, and, eventhough it was against my Tigers, it was awesome to see. He was so excited, smiling and hugging everyone. What an amazing thing to see and what a great guy.

And yeah it was a very quiet 600. He never really had one or two "holy crap that was amazing" seasons but had season after season of simply solid baseball.

I wonder if some of the quietness was because we didn't really have 3 days to hype him sitting at 599 (since he hit 599 and 600 in consecutive ABs).

Which is upsetting in a game where the numbers are supposed to mean so much.

I certainly hope he doesn't suffer any guilt by association come voting time.

An interesting day in Baseball. Not only did Thome hit his 600th HR but Isringhausen got his 300th save and Milwaukee had a triple play. All on the same day. Gotta love Baseball!

Thome for a long time was an oddity to me. He was 1 of the few players i have ever seen that would hit close to .300 strike out 150 times yet walk over 100 times in most seasons. He led the league in BB 3 times K's 4 times. Once in the same yr....I would love to know who else has ever done that. with both numbers being over 125.

Yeah, wow, I had no idea he still played, let alone was anywhere close to 300. But ... good for him either way.

Bonds in comparison is 38.5%.

Mike Schmidt, 1983. Also led the league in HR, OBP, OPS+, and WAR.

Really? I may not like Bonds but #756 was very special to me. How many times will a person witness that record fall in his/her lifetime? To me, witnessing history like that is always special.
