Player ratings question
In my current fictional solo league I found a player during free agent bidding that had contact/power/eye at 14-17-12. He was asking for $22M for two years. I met the demand and was happy to get this player. On December 31 when the players are rated he came in at 10-10-8. My question is how did this happen? The player was 37 but until that age he had solid numbers each season. He hit 41 homers at the age of 36.
I simmed the season and as expected this player was done. I guess when you take a chance on someone in their late thirties this can happen. |

If you have scouts on, I believe Jan 1st is when they re-assess their opinion of everyone, you often see this on Jan 1st with recently drafted players changing dramatically.

I have scouts off. This players ratings went south after I signed him in December. I will keep an eye on this. I don't know if this is a bug with the OSA ratings being to high and then readjusting on Jan 1st. But this player went from hitting 41 homers at age 36 to 11 homers when his ratings went down.
