No-Hitter/Perfect Game Question
Let's say you're at a game and the opponent's pitcher is no-hitting your team (or pitching a perfect game). It's getting later in the game (say the 7th, 8th inning). Do you cheer for the no-hitter/Perfect Game even though it's against your team?
If yes, what would cause you to not cheer for a no-hitter/Perfect Game? Team? Player? Score? Playoff potential? == I say yes. Even a team that I greatly dislike and a player I greatly dislike. It'd be so much fun to be at a no-hitter/Perfect Game - even if it is the opponent. |

If it was Pedro pitching, no way
. It's hard to stomach your team getting no-hit, but how can you not cheer watching history in the making?

I wouldn't cheer while it was happening but I'm a good sport so I'd give him an applause after it was completed.
If it's your team there isn't a good reason I can think of to essetially root against them. If it's already happened you have to appreciate the accomplishment. |

Yes, same here. It's a rare feat so I would root for any pitcher who's got a no-hitter/perfect game on the line.

If you really think about it, if you really love the game and appreciate the value of what a No-Hitter or a Perfect Game means. You don't want it to happen, but rarely. It ruins it otherwise. Look at the HR record, does anybody care about it anymore? |

I'd be ecstatic to see a Perfect Game/No-Hitter by any team. |

Once it was all said and done I would appreciate what I just saw and clap for what he just accomplished but in no way would I root for it to happen. If I'm not pitching the perfect game or someone I personally know I can't root against my team just to say I attended a perfect game. Would it be cool to say I was there? Sure. You have to remember, I'm a Sox fan, not a Cubs fan

I can totally see it your way; I'm just justifying my thoughts.
In the end, baseball is more important than my team. A Perfect Game/No-Hitter is better for baseball. All things equal, if my team is going to lose; I want it to be because their pitcher pitched a game where he was unhittable (Perfect Game/No-Hitter). |
