Which Injury Setting Do You Use?
I am goofing around with a MAL league and i decided to go with High (modern) for my injury setting. I am on April 12th, there is 27 players out for 6 -15 months and 65 with other misc injuries. For a league that has all levels and is set in 2000 doesnt that seem way to high for this early in the season?
for the rest of my leagues i tend to use the OOTP default. and i tend not to have more then 8 injure players that go on 15 day dl and 2-3 on 60 day dl or longer. Only my historical league also has high injuries but they tend not to be as major. so what do u use what do u recommend? |

Normally I play under Normal...For my new league I am playing on High...I am in a 1999 Historical league, so while i have a ton of minor league pitching I have 4 guys left on offense at AAA...2 of which will have to replace Ray Durham and Jeff Abbott who just got injured in the game i am playing now which is only in the 4th inning.
Here's my DL Jim Parque 8-9 months Greg Norton 3-4 Months Harold Baines 6 weeks - been out since game 1 in ST Ozzie Guillen 5 weeks " " Ray Durham unk Jeff Abbott unk I have no IF left at AAA and will have to call up Jeff Leifer and Brian Simmons and have just Lui Rodriguez left on my bench until Ozzie comes back in 5 days. It does make managing in the AL with the a challenge...at least 3 of my 4 SP have ERA's under 2.50 right now. I am 4-6. __________________ |

I typically play on Low, simply because dealing with injuries is one of my least favorite sports sim activities, and the Low setting makes the game more enjoyable while preserving durability and depth as important parts of the game.
When starting a new game, I'll often play the first two or thee seasons on Very Low, since in most cases I'll start by trading veterans, bottoming out, and acquiring prospects, so the results for the first few years won't be terribly interesting to me, and I'd rather get through the actual games for those years as quickly as possible. |

Trying to figure something out here and I guess it all comes down to settings.
My 2 main leagues I play are both at Normal for injuries. For my 1999 White Sox I had a high of 8 players on the DL at the end of April. For my fictional ABF Chicago Fire I have 2 players from my ML roster on the DL and 6 from my 4 levels of minors in the middle of May. I guess layer fatigue, pitcher stamina are factors in this. But that's why i said I didnt believe someone earlier cuz the most stars I have ever had out at 1 time for the Fire was 3. |

I agree. That's why I always set the Injury Frequency in my leagues always to Low, too...
