Who are your surprise stars?
Who has stood out for you in one season or a career? Someone who was rated highly and just started producing for you unexpectedly.
I have a few for the 2012 season. Josh Bell, Switch Hitting 3rd Basemen / Real Life Stats He has been platooning with Juan Francisco, facing mostly left handed pitchers. His line: .277 / .354 / .490 with 8 HR, 25 RBI and a 10.7 VORP in 67 games. John Baker, Left Handed Catcher / Real Life Stats He platoons with Francisco Cervalli, but Cervalli has been getting the bulk of the playing time lately. However, I can't seem to go wrong with either one of them in the lineup. His line: .291 / .393 / .408 with 4 HR, 20 RBI and a 11.1 VORP in 64 games. Fred Harris, Right Handed Relief Pitcher / Game Created Rookie He is 22 years old and although he projects to be one of the best relievers in the game for years to come, I did not expect he'd have any impact this season. He developed quickly! After just 10 games in Triple A I promoted him after a few injuries and well... His line: 5-1, 9 SVs, 0.79 ERA, 551 ERA+, 29 K in 34 IP I don't use a normal closer. I simply use matchups. If I need my best in the 6th inning then I use them there. He's racked up a few 0.1 ip saves and a few 2 ip saves. Share yours! I am having a blast with this game!
