As to the "how to" directions... Thanks...

Works like a charm...

I will have some historical players in my fictional league...

I debate this idea every single offseason but I have yet to implement it.

I don't add historical players in my fictional leagues. I guess, I'm a purist. I like all my players to be fictional in my fictional leagues...

In 2006 I took my Continental League of mostly fictional players (plus a handful of real guys who'd washed out of the majors) and incorporated it into a huge universe of leagues. This included the real 2006 major league roster set, along with a real 2006 Japanese Leagues set. So while most of my league is fictional, it also has a snapshot of real players from 2006. In the intervening five seasons there has been much crossover, with free agents going back and forth from fictional leagues to real (and vice versa, and back again in some cases). It's fun to see long time CBL stars playing on the Indians, and real players ending up in Honolulu or Wichita. And the occasional Choo Freeman playing in the Greenland Winter Ice Baseball League.

Is there a way to import historical players into the game prior to them being major league ready or from say the gambo database without having to do it one by one? (also is it possible to designate them to be in the rookie draft and not just fa?) newbian here and step by step like given above would be greatly appreciated.

Spritz or gambo have a DB for 11 dont know if it will work for 12 that brings in all players at 18 check Padresfan
OOTP Databases

To my knowledge you can only import 1 by 1 or team by team

Theres an option to have them enter the draft pool when you import them. I do it all the time when the game opens the draft pool 15-30 days prior to draft.

ok thanks. they do have a database now for 12 but i couldn't seem to get it to work. I will try tinkering with it when I get to the 15-30 prior to the draft and just import them one by one.

I do put some real players in my fictional league, a few every year...as I see fit, but I do it like this. I create draftable youngsters with potentials matching how they performed in real life. Then I watch 'em and see how they develop. Some will bust and some won't...

In my ABF League I have had several greats bust. Lance Johnson, Ozzie Guillen & Harold Baines most notably. Satchel Paige is #2 in wins ERA and K. Josh Gibson had a CEI in his 3rd season, but I just unretired him after 7 sns and he is doing ok as Paige's C. Frank Thomas is the 2nd best hitter for Boston and has finished #3 in last yrs MVP voting.
