I read this morning that he is on the DL there now. I don't know for sure what the deal is. But, maybe he's been hurt all season? Seems weird to finally figure it out in July though, if that was the problem.

So, who is getting traded this week? That's about all I care about right now.

Hopefully, anyone and everyone who does not have a chance to be on this team in 2 years.

Willingham for sure. Maybe some of our relievers.

But I really don't care; I've all but given up on this organization. When they make some reasonable attempt at running this club then I'll make another reasonable attempt at being a fan.

It starts at the top. Fisher & Wolff are horrible. If the Haas family were here, (heck, even Schott and Hofmann) we'd have a decision about San Jose by now. The whole stadium debate (or lack thereof) is really handcuffing this franchise.

You can blame Beane all you want, but free agents won't come here, and he's trying. Sure, he's been impatient with some younger players and traded them away before their prime. But, he has to take more chances with trades to even have a chance for the postseason.

If we stay pat, we become the Royals. If we trade talent for talent, we run the risk of the Matt Holliday trade.

My main beef with Beane is that he's never had a 2-3 year plan. It's like he sees that pitching staff and thinks "Wow, if we had average hitting, we'd be in the playoffs." Then he trades for Willingham, DeJesus, Kouzmanoff, Holliday, Hairston, et all. When they don't work out, he can't trade them for value. -And we can't afford them at the end of the season.

Yeah, our owners are horrible.

This was the first time in a very, very long time when I knew we were going to win even though we were down in the mid-late innings. In fact, I can't remember the last time when I had that feeling, it's gotta be 3 or 4 years now.

When Fuentes (!) came stopped the Rays from scoring with a guy on 3rd & 1 out in the 7th, I knew it. I knew we would come back from 2 runs down.

Ha! This is kinda funny because I knew that the Rays were going to blow it. Our bullpen has been doing it all season with smoke and mirrors, and is finally getting exposed as the mediocre bullpen that it is.

I think we can trade some of our big names for more utility outfielder/infielder bust prospects. We seem to be really good at getting those sorts of deals done.

We need more corner outfield prospects that have a ceiling of 15 homers.

Beane said if he didn't get what he was looking for then he'd keep the group together and take the picks in the off-season. After the last three games, I say let 'em play and lets see if we can make it interesting, ala the Cleveland Indians of "Major League'

I hope they don't get any delusions that they're still in the race. There is just too much ground to make up and they'll inevetiably cool off and go through another rough stretch. Where they stand now is that they need to go 43-15 to win 90 games, or 38-20 to win 85 games. It ain't happenin'. Still though I wouldn't give guys away for nothing.

My Rays can't get out of Oakland fast enough. What a whoopin' the A's have put on them this series.

I heard on the radio the A's hit 233 before the All-Star break and 321 after. Dang.

That 4th inning was fun for me. Of course, I turned it off after that.

I couldn't believe anyone in the A's organization thinks we have a legitimate chance this year.

I think its less of that and more of "we'll take the draft picks instead of mediocre propects, if that's all we're going to get"

Harden to the Red Sox for Lars Anderson, PTBNL.

Anderson isn't the uber prospect he once was, but he's still only 23.

Oakland pushes ahead with new stadium plan for Raiders, solo or shared - Inside Bay Area

Quote:
o-owner Lew Wolff said this week by telephone that he has no information about the plans.
"We've seen nothing," he said. The Coliseum area, he added, is a great site, but a new stadium would not persuade him to stay in Oakland.
Pretty much says it all right there doesn't it.
